Welcome Laura!

You are not doing anything wrong.  Just keep at it and it WILL get better.  I was wiped out for the first few weeks and also had to work half days for a bit.  When I WAS able to go to full days, I went straight home and to sleep.  This is a major surgery and you body needs to catch up.  I know that I had to sleep in the recliner for a very long time, and remember that the pain in my left side by the biggest incision was still pretty bad at my 1 month check up.

Keep taking your vitamins and protein and one day, you will wake up and feel 100% better!  It's kind of funny how a "switch" seems to get flipped somewhere.

Welcome again, and please join us more often!

Good morning Deb and IL friends!

Monica, I'm sad to hear that you're feeling worse again. It's probably a good idea to contact the doctor. I had a great time yesterday and it was good to chat about everything. We wouldn't have been able to chat as much in a big group.

On the way home, I stopped at the bank where I have my home equity loan to see what could be done for me. They are researching options for me, refinancing or mortgage and to consolidate all my debt into one account. So, we'll see.

Boy, is it raining this morning. I had to take off my fake fur coat as I didn't want to get it soaked. So, I had to walk from the parking lot without a coat. I did carry it in with me under an umbrella, so it didn't get too wet. People were driving crazy this morning, speeding away in this heavy rain.  Accidents waiting to happen.

Wishing everyone a safe day.

Hugs,
Lucy

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good morning Deb and the rest of Illinois!

I hope you got your errands done before the weather became too terrible.  I need to get going on my baking too.

It sounds like Lucy and Monica had a nice visit.  Happy to hear that Monica's test came out well, but sorry to hear that she is feeling crappy again.

I have had the same hacking, dry cough for almost 3 weeks now.  I have a sore throat each morning and the hacking is WAY worse at night.  Last night, I realized that if I slept sitting propped up on extra pillows, I got more sleep.  It is really weird, because during the day, I feel almost normal.  No congestion in my chest or nose, and after drinking water in the morning, the throat does not hurt any more.  Last night, if I lay flat, it almost felt like I was drowning at one point.  I wonder what it could be?????  I don't have a fever or anything else, so I am pretty sure it is not serious, but it sure is annoying!

All the schools out by me are closed today, but Rockford is in session.  I have not called my kids yet, but I will get them up soon and suggest that they give their rooms a good cleaning.

If the weather looks too bad, I will head home early to make sure that I get there.

I wish everyone a safe and warm day!

Hi Dawn-best to make an appointwent w/your pcp and get that checked out.  Having to sleep sitting
upright is symptomatic of a few things not to be ignored.  Better to be safe and well for the holidays-Big Hugs-Janet K

Not much happening on my end.  I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow.  Hopefully, the weather will be ok.

I was happy to find some sodium free chicken broth powder at Meijer.  It tastes ok, a little odd without the sodium.  Yesterday, the first day of the pre-op liquid diet, I was craving something salty around 3-4pm, but didn't give in to anything.

I wish you all a warm and safe day.  Get healthy!

So is this your first day of the liquid diet, it will be over before you know it.  I tell you I was never so glad to get to move to pureed food and now I have less than a week and I get soft food. Your going to do great and Dr. R is the best. Are you doing your surgery at Good Sam. They are so good to you there and there is a nurse there ...Lisa and Tina they are wonderful.
Your doing so good look at how much you have lost already.  I can't encourage you enough.

Isle,  thats an impressive weight loss!  I now how your body craves things you can not have while on the liquid diet. It will all be worth it.  You also have an awsome dr and staff behind you all the way! Good luck on the pre-op appointment!

In some ways the pre-op diet is a relief.  It requires very little thought.  I had found appropriate meal replacements, added up the calories, carbs, and protein and it's a no brainer.

I am doing two  portions of Muscle Milk Light powder in vanilla (a total of four scoops) mixed with some Crystal Light or SF Tang  and two RTD EAS Advantage Carb Control in chocolate.  Very little preparation in the morning and work is the two RTD chocolate protein drinks.  I also bought a Cookies and Creme Muscle Milk Light canister at Meijer this morning.  I also have some SF Carnation Instant B-fast at hand if I need it.

This coming weekend and the 20th will be harder.

The drive home today from Bartlett was slow but ok.  Tomorrow, I work 1/2 day and head over to the doctors appointment.

It looks like Good Sam tried to call to register me.  I tried to do it in person last Thursday, but they said to wait for a call.  The problem is they call during the day when I am at work.  Not in the later afternoon when I am actually home.

Have a safe evening.
