Ok heres the deal I am trying to have WLS. I have my insurance approval, doctor's letters, physc eval all done and faxed to the surgeon I picked. Every time I call the office I'm told to do something else then I"ll get an appointment for a consultation. I do one thing then its another. All I'm ever told is that the program director will call! What the heck??? I dont want to bash the surgeon  I heard hes awesome, but COME ON PEOPLE!! I hoping to have surgery in January!! Anyways anybody else experience this? Wanna know who the surgeon is look under my avatar :)

If you want to consider changing surgeons, mine is excellent!  I highly recommend her!

I do not know much about your surgeon and the scheduling issues that he or his staff has but I will say this in their defense; many doctors at this time of year are very over whelmed with patients trying to call and schedule appointments and procedures. It is simply this - most insurance companies use the calendar year for the patients to use up their benefits. If they do not use the benefits then they loose them and have to start over on their deductible. There is also the issue of people needing to schedule during the holiday week because they do not get much vacation or kids coming home from school. Another thing to think of is that the program director is only one person and there are only so many hours in the day.

Call back the office and use a ton of honey when talking because remember honey draws more flies than to vinegar.

Good luck.

I don't have any great advice that the others haven't already said, but I wanted to give you a little {{{{{hug}}}}} and let you know that I understand your frustration.

If you don't feel that this office is giving you what you need, feel free to call other offices, and being that you are not trying to get your surgery done before the end of THIS year, I would think that the problems should be minimal.  Just be sure to emphasize that you HAVE APPROVAL in hand.  That should grease the wheels!

Tell someone that you love them!
