Hello everyone

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I had a great Thanksgiving.  I had yummy turkey.  The family is doing great.  My daughter hung all over her grandma all night.  You couldn't seperate the two of them.  They are such wonderful people.  I can't understand for the life of me why my daughter's father doesn't want to be with them.  Oh well it works out for me because I will take them.

I decorated my house.  Yesterday when I was unpacking my Christmas tree I was cutting the packing tape.  Well some how I cut through and cut a string of lights.  How stupid is that!!!  So this morning at 5am I was at Lowes to buy a new tree.  I got a great tree for $38.  Since it was Lowes it wasn't that busy.  I was in and out and back at home in less than an hour.  I will be out and about later today to pick up my RX at Walgreens and to take my daughter out to Red Robin (they have a soy burger that she loves).  Then we are renting Wall E, my daughter want me to see it.  Little does she know I bought it for her for Christmas.  She says it has an environmental plot to the story.  So she loves the movie (being an environmental science major).

Anyway I have to go and finish putting up my new tree

It felt like a long day yesterday.  We haven't gone anywhere shopping yet today.  Most of the ads didn't motivate me to leave the house early.  I overslept past the time where I would normally swim at VAC.

The NTB I have gone to is in North Aurora, just off I88 and Orchard.  The other nearby one is in Montgomery, where they built the Menards, JC Penney, at the Rt 30 Rt 34 split.

I hope to get to Whole Foods sometime soon, not sure when

Good Morning Crystal and Illinois Friends

It is a beautiful morning and I am up and will be getting ready for work shortly.

Crystal, your story sounds like something that I would do.    At least you were able to get another tree at a reasonable price.  They say timing is everything.

I went to my sister's yesterday and ended up feeling like a turkey at the end of the meal -- stuffed!  The food was yummy -- she had turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, pickled carrots, 2 kinds of cranberry relish, green bean casserole, corn muffins and pumpkin pie.  I did not have everything but still managed to eat too much.  Ugh!  I only had 1/2 cup veggie soup for lunch so that helped offset the calories.  I came home with some great leftovers of ham and turkey.  I have some yummy protein that will last quite a while.

It was an interesting dinner to say the least.  My nephew and his kids and soon to be exwife were there.  It was slightly awkward to say the least.  It went o****il the very end.  She is really delusional about her future.  She doesnt think she can go to work for another year. She did apply for a job but it may be 2 days a week and that is too much!    Hello????  You are going to be a single mom!  You will have to work.  My nephew is going to support them for the first year but she has got to take an initiative.  She is a spendaholic and is heading for very dangerous waters.

I just wish my nephew would go for full custody.  It was a bizarre day to say the least.

Well, it is Friday!  Yeah!  Another weekend is here and I can get some more things done around the house.  Work will be dragging today.  I probably will be paid to read a newspaper unless they end up sending me home.  We will see.

Have a great day!

Good Morning my Il family,

I hope everyone's Turkey Day went fantastic and everyone had a blessed time!  I did. We got home about 8:45pm last night.

Today, there is no shopping for me, I can't stand crowds so going anywhere near stores from now until New Year's is terrible for me!  You would think I would have all my Christmas shopping done then...nope, not a thing.  I have to take Tyler to wrestling practice here in a little bit and then take Jacob to his dad's.  Austyn's grandma (from his mom's side) is picking him up around 11am to take him for the weekend.  Tomorrow is Tyler's first wrestling meet, though we dont even know where we're going yet for it!  crazy.  After that his dad will take him and celebrate their Thanksgiving together.  I have no other real plans this weekend.  I do have to pick up 2 scripts for Tyler later today though.

I hope everyone who went out early for Black Friday, got what they wanted/needed without too much hassle.  Maybe someday I will brave the weather and do that...LOL  I don't like the idea of standing out there in the cold so early in the morning!  lol

Have a great and warm day everyone!!

Monica

Good morning everyone!

We had a pleasant Thanksgiving with Kay's brother and his family. Of course they did watch the dog show on TV which bores me to death. I wanted to watch football! The meal was fine and I did fine with food. Last night we just had protein--not really hungry for much.

When we got home we decorated for Christmas. It sure goes faster when you can move better. We were done in just over an hour! It used to take all day because we had to keep sitting down to rest!

Kay is venturing out to shop! I'm going to the yarn store to knit with non-shoppers like me!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Illinois.

I for one did not go out to the stores this morning. I agree with Monica, no shopping for me . I am done shopping, almost done with wrapping, the cards are done, and hopefully, later this weekend, i will start baking, At one time, I would do at least 25 different cookies, a few cakes and pies, and alot of candy. Now, it is down to choc chip, with and without nuts, peanut butter blossoms and oatmeal raisen. No candy, no pies nor cake.

Yesterday went great for me. I stuck to my plan, and only took 1 t of everything. I was able to get everything down, and it stayed down. I was even able to eat a small sliver of pumpkin cheesecake. I also drank a real drink. I had about a 2 T serving of port. All in all, I didnot feel deprived of any of the Thanksgiving goodies.

Today is housecleaning and finishing up a few things. Then to the grocery store. I think we are going out with friends this evening.

Have a great day.

Hugs

Good Morning All -
I'm getting a late start today.  Yesterday was a long day on the roads.  We did have a nice visit but like I said, we spent more on the roads then visiting.
I'm at work today because we did not meet our goal for the month and looks like we still may not since today is a Holiday for UPS.
I'm probably going to finish up what I can and try to get out of here by noon.
I have to work at Outback tonight.  No other plans except for staying far, far away from any shopping centers!

Good afternoon Crystal and Illinois!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Day! I know I did. I'm so proud to say that I ate a little of most things and did not overdo anything. I didn't feel like a stuffed pig when I was done eating dinner. I watched the way other people shoved food into their mouths and thought," Not me, not today, not ever again"

I will not do any shopping today. My son called me at 9 this morning and said, "Wal-mart was nuts" It appears he was there at 4 this morning.
He also told us the guy in front of him in-line spent over $2000. I', so glad my shopping is done and my house is decorated and clean. My Christmas cards were put in this mornings mail. One year I mailed them a week later and people thought that something was wrong since thet didn't get my card on the Monday after Thanksgiving.  I will have my OH cards sent out by Monday.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hello Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I have had an adventurous few days!
Tuesday, I was losing the battle with my cold and not feeling very well.  By the time I left work, I was pretty sure that Wednesday was going to be a sick day.  WELL....it was, but not so much for me.  While I was getting out of the shower at 5:30 am, Liv came in crying that she did not feel good and her throat hurt so much that it hurt to breathe!  She also had a stuffed up nose and her ears hurt.  So.....I stayed home with her and got her to the doctor by 9 am.  She has/had strep throat and was miserable!  We got her antibiotics and lots of Popsicles and I took her home to take care of her.  She slept on the couch and I got the cleaning bug and wound up cleaning like a fiend for 4.5 hours.  I vacuumed under all the furniture and all the cobwebs from the high ceilings.  Then, I made the stuffing for yesterday.  Later on Wednesday, we went over to the neighbors to visit.

Yesterday, I got up at 6:30 and the cold was back full force.  Too bad for me because I had to make the feast.  We had turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed red potatoes, onion gratin, Brussels sprouts, green beans, corn casserole, gravy, dutch apple pie (courtesy of Sara Lee) and mint chocolate chip ice cream pie.  Amber brought a fresh veggie tray.  The kids were out by 1 and we ate at 1:30.  I did very well, used the small plate and just a small bit of the things I wanted.  Then we played cards until about 4:30 when Amber's family left and Todd and the kids went to his mother's.  Liv should have stayed home with me, but felt obligated to go.  I laid on the couch and slept fitfully from 5:30 to 8:30, when I went upstairs to bed for the night.

I came in to work this morning by 6:30, left here at 10 to help move my aunt into her new apartment, went to lunch and am now back at work.  I will be here for another hour or so.  Then, I will probably go back to my aunt's to help her put stuff away.

Tomorrow, Liv has rehearsal and I am going to help decorate the theater.  She also has rehearsal on Sunday.  Next weekend is the BIG SHOW!!!  Somewhere in there, I hope to get a nap.

I'm glad to hear that everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving and it looks like everyone stayed on track pretty much.  Good for us!!!!

I will try to check in this weekend, have a lovely rest-of-the-day!

Tell someone that you love them!
