newbie intro
Hi everyone!
My name is Kim and I had My surgery (RNY) on Oct 29th. I have been doing pretty good with it. I joined though because I need support as everyone does. Hubby is great because he is having the procedure on Dec 17th but you know how different men and women are. He has lost as much as I have and he is on the pre diet. Anyways with the holidays coming up and returning to work on Dec 1st I want to hang out here some. I did not and will not tell work what I had done (I am a nurse and boy are we nosey) I told them about hubby and got all the usual negative responses about easy way out and mutilating your body SHEESH
I am married hanve 2 chihuahuas, a mini poodle and a new standard poodle I hope to be able to train to come to work with me (we are a long ways away from that.) No kids but do have a roommate of 12 years, he is like a kid...lol
Have a great weekand stay warm!

I am 2 years ahead of you almost to the day. I am glad to see you here and please join us on the daily roll call. That is how we stay in touch and learn about each other.
We are a great bunch of friends and even have get togethers a few times a year.
Glad to "meet" you!
Hi Kim-
Welcome!! I hope to have RNY surgery in Jan or Feb. Everyone is of such great support and advice! I have learned much from just reading the posts and asking question! There never is a lack of response, everyone is always willing to share their experiences!!
I wish you continued success!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
-Joy.
Congrats again Kimmi and if you need some support, I live close so maybe we can get some soup or something. :)
Take care!
Jill
Nice to meet you. You must join us on our daily roll call.
I wish I could have a dog, but I live in a pet free apartment.
I am lucky my coworkers and boss are so supportive of me. They know when my monthly appointments are and ask me how I did. Sometimes they just tell me how great I'm doing on my 6 month doctor supervised diet. The person I haven't told yet is my sister, for the same reasons as you.
Well see you tomorrow on roll call.
Hi and welcome to this board. I used to live and work over near you but I've been in Rockford a long time. My partner had lap band three weeks after I did and it helps to have someone at home who understands.
Check in with us daily and you'll got lots of support!

As to the negative comments about the "easy way out," I will be the first to admit that my weight has flown off my body and I have been able to eat anything and everything. However, the anticipation, fear and post-op recovery are not easy. It's enough to make you regret the decision, sometimes, especially in those early days.
As you now know firsthand, deciding to have bariatric surgery to save your life is NOT the easy way out. Those people are very wrong and do not know what you or your husband have been through being obese. Just let your good health and good looks speak for themselves with those clowns. And when they jealously ask "HOW did you lose the weight??" tell them "oh, you know, I took the easy way out."
