Tuesday Roll Call

Up late again this Monday night.  There was supposed to be snow tonite but I have not seen any.  I was ready for bed three hours ago but my legs were not.  I needed to write this to click to going ahead and taking two more gabepentins that are allowed.

Nut wants me to start eating real foods.  Three months of liquids for breakfast and luch.  I am sure she thinks that will have broken bad habits for the daytime.  Real food is so much more complicated though.

I have been making more of my lackluster videos that I put on YouTube where I am randy7771026.  I have also been fixing a liftchair.  I feel like the Maytag repairman.  I repair liftchairs, scooters and powerchairs.  Not too many and not too often though.  That is OK though as I am getting healthier I could live with a few more calls and have been considering putting up some cards in markets and maybe a small paper ad.  I am no good to someone who has to have something repaired yesterday and anything heavy I like to have DW with me for balance but we get the work done right.  In the wait times I have been enjoying paper trading in the CNBC contest.

Hello everyone

One more day then 4 days off!!!   WooHoo!!!  Today is our company's Thanksgiving lunch.  They cater turkey, stuffing, and ect.  They still make u*****h out and take a half hour lunch.  So by the time you wait in line for the food its time to punch back in again.  It would be nice to be able to sit down and visit with everyone and enjoy our meal.

My daughter is starting to feel better and I haven't caught anything yet.  What is the incubation period for the flu?  Just hoping I don't get it.  I'm trying to save up my vacation time for my surgery.  I'm thinking she will be better by Thanksgiving for sure.

I hope everyone enjoys their family and friends on Thanksgiving.

Good Morning Illinois,

Today will be a busy one, I am sure. Tuesdays always are a bit nuts. Yesterday, I was still unableto get my laptot working at work, so i was able to get the supervisor to allow me to call Verizon. About 2 hours later I was able to access my work programs. Something about the  settings changed om my computer. Hmmmm, that was odd, since my co-worker couldn't get hers up and running either, and the other office in our building had the same problem s     last week that we did.  Today I am on ATT service, so hopefully, no more problems.

I did finish the tree last night. I think it is the best one yet. But then, I say that every year. Now if DH will finish the outside stuff, we will be done.

I will start getting the stuff I need to make for Thanksgiving, to take to my DD's , tonight.  And I also need to to do some housework,

What is on your agenda today?

Stay warm, its going to be cold today.

Hugs and happy Tuesday.

Good morning everyone!

Today I am gonna go through my list of things I need for thanksgiving, and make sure I have everything.  I am sure I do, but I am anal about it, I want to make sure, I am so forgetful lately.  DH actually wonders if it is something to do with the surgeries, or just gettting older...lol

DH starts vacation tomorrow.  He loves to go shopping on Black Friday with me.  We usually finish Christmas shopping, and get our present together.

I found out yesterday that my nephew and niece and their kids are moving to Vandalia.  I guess I will be putting some miles on my car.  It is only and hour away, but right now they are only 5 minutes away.

I guess I better get off of here and get some things done.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Randy and Illinois Friends!

Randy, have you come any closer to a surgery date?  You are doing real well on your preop diet!  Did not realize you were such a handy person.

Crystal, I can relate to that half hour lunch.  By the time you go to the bathroom, fix your lunch and wolf it down and get back to your desk, you feel that you have run a marathon.  Relaxing??? NOT!!!!

Lisa, I hope your computer behaves today.  Nothing is more frustrating at work than a computer that is rebelling.  Mine has days that it has a mind of its own and I would love to throw it out the window!

I enjoyed my day off yesterday but I was still incredibly busy.  Not as restful as I wanted.  Oh well, I only have to work 3 days this week.

Have a great day!

I am only closer to a surgery date if there is actually to be one as in being closer to finishing twelve months under a dr/nut/pa/psych program of going at least once a month to The Program and working towards approval.  I have come to the idea that it is actually useful to be waiting twelve months since my current goal is 450 by Christmas then 400 by the end of the twelve months so that I might be small enough to get a cat scan and maybe even an MRI so the docs can see what they are dealing with in terms of heart, lungs and old surgery scars and meshes if any were left when the last surgeon tried to remove everything due to infection.

Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!

I hear ya about the difference between liquids and "real food".  I am struggling with that a bit myself.  After trying my nut's plan, I have gained 5-6 pounds so I am freaking out.  I am going back to protein shakes for a few days with maybe a light supper.  I just wish that there was only ONE protocol for eating after surgery so that finding the right plan would not be so difficult.

I am working today and still fighting this cold off, but I am afraid that I am losing.  I flushed my sinuses last night and it seems to have "broken the seal" and now I have a runny/stuffy nose and my right eye feels like it may have a cold in it (I hope it's not as bad as Pinkeye).  Oh well, I will continue to fight as I don't really have any time to be sick.

I am hoping to stop by my aunt's tonight and maybe get a few of her boxes packed into the trailer for the big move on Friday.  I do not know if I will have to come into work on Friday or if I will be helping with the move.  I guess I'd better get that figured out.....it is only a few days away.  She is getting very excited about it and that is a good thing.

I still have to pick up a couple of the fresh things for Thanksgiving as I went straight home last night.

I am thinking of Janet K. and hoping that they get her straightened out soon and she does not go too long like Monica did.

Everyone stay safe, dry and warm today!

Dawn-

Weird question but you mentioned flushing your sinuses.  Does that really work?  I have bad allergies and I can't take any decongestants due to my high blood pressure ( I used to take Allegra).  So I have been just dealing with my constant stuffy/runny nose for months now.  At work I'm especially bad because it's so dusty and the ventilation is bad.

At this point I will try anything.

Heck YES it works!!!!

My son had horrible sinus trouble for years and the last ditch effort before surgery was for him to flush (or irrigate) his sinuses twice a day for 2 weeks.  His doctor told him that it may help him avoid surgery.  In his case, it did not avoid the surgery, but he was to continue to do it daily for the first month or so after surgery and once or twice a week afterward.

This got us all to trying it and it definately works.  The last cold I had, a few weeks ago, I flushed 3-4 times a day in addition to good hand sanitation and extra vitamin C, and the cold was minimal compared to everyone else around me.  This time around, I am hoping for similar results.

I have a bunch of our neighbors doing it too, and they swear by it.

I use the "SinuCleanse" pot.  David's doctor developed this particular one so that is what we started with and the method that I prefer.  You can pick up the whole kit at Walgreen's for around $ 15.00.  This doctor even gave me the recipe for the saline solution in case I didn't want to buy the refill packets (which I will share if you need).

David actually prefers the squeeze bottle type ("Neil's Med", I think it is called....) to each his own.  As long as it gets flushed, I don't want to argue with him about how he does it.

You should try it. I am a big believer in it and you can safely do it up to every 2 hours.  No drugs or anything and it makes sense to wash out the crappy stuff before it gets infected.

Good luck!
