Monday Roll Call

Good morning and welcome to the Illinois board!

I wish you good luck today with your procedure.  The food tracking is very helpful and if you start measuring your food, soon you will be able to "eyeball" it pretty accurately.

I (and the kids) had a great time yesterday and it is always great to see everyone and meet new friends.  I will get my recipe up as soon as I get a chance to type it.

Looks like it was a good thing that Todd stayed home and finished the yard!  We had almost an inch of snow when I left at 5:45 am, and it was still coming down pretty heavy.  As I got into town, it slacked off a bit, but the roads were a bit slippery.

Work today, then I might stop at the store for the fre****ems I need for Thursday.  I've got everything else ready to go.

I am sure hoping that we can get our Christmas lights up this coming weekend, but it will be mostly up to Todd and David since we are moving my aunt on Friday and Liv has rehearsals both Saturday and Sunday.

I am sending healing thoughts and prayers to Janet K., Crystal's daughter and Angie.  I have had a bit of a nagging sore throat every morning for the past 3-4 days and a tiny bit of runny nose, but nothing like a real cold, and I hope it stays that way.

Happy Monday.  It's a three day week for me and I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving.  Calvin and I will be traveling to Indy Thanksgiving morning.  Our daughter Jessica will be hosting Thanksgiving this year.  I can't wait to see Jess and the girls. 
Not much else going on.  I will not be out on Black Friday.. It's really not worth it and I really don't need anything.  So, I will probably pull out the Christmas stuff on Friday.  I'll give Janet a call in a little bit to see how she is getting along.

Good Morning my IL family,

All the snow is already melted outside, which is fine with me.  lol
I am up and dressed and hoping that I get the phone call from that one guy who wants to hire me.  I am willing to start next Monday!  I am also supposed to go to lunch with a friend I used to work with at Petco.  She had a baby last month and wants to meet up so I can see the baby! 
We'll see.  I am doing laundry and getting last minute things ready to leave for my mom's tomorrow.  Jacob and I are heading out tomorrow mid afternoon, with my sis and neice to help our mom prepare for Thanksgiving.  She's still not doing great healthwise, but wouldn't give up the holiday this year.  So she will be getting extra help!  I won't be back til late on Thursday and my parents have no computer, therefore no internet access. 

Well I am off to let my crazy dogs outside to chase squirrels! lol

Well, as you can see, I'm very late to the roll call today!  It was a great get together yesterday and we had fun.  I'm at work for my 2 day week!  I always try and take Wednesday off since I do the cooking for Thanksgiving, and the I'm taking Friday off since the kids are home.  We use Friday to do the Christmas decorations.  This year, we decided that we will take Nic to cut down our tree.  It's really better to buy a tree that was cut back in October (I use to have tree lots!), but it's cool to go through the adventure with the kids.  There are farms very close to home.  This year, I'm limiting my outdoor decorations since we have had vandals for the last couple of years and I just don't feel like dealing with all that.  I'll do lights and a few small displays, but my 18 dear and 6 giant inflatables can consider themselves retired!  My wife goes crazy on the indoors, and I do a really great tiny village.  When we first got married, I got up late and walked out to an amazing display of stuff.  When Liz asked my thoughts, I said it looked like Santa threw up!  So now she insists on calling everything "Santa throw up"!  But it is nice to live with all of the stuff spread out for the season.  We have Thanksgiving on Thursday, a holiday party for my staff at the house on December 13th, and then we are doing a party at my mother's house on Christmas Day.  So it looks like my month will be filled with activity!  Everybody try to stay warm!

Hi,
I have been deseeding chilly peppers all morning. I'm going to make tomalleys for Thanksgiving to take to Arkansas to my sisters. I will do the sauce and meat today and let it cool off for tomorrow and then do the masa and cook them tomorrow afternoon. I'm leaving wednesday so they will be ready to take. I haven't got any Christmas shopping done yet, but will go shopping with my familly down south. My brother wants to go dancing next Saturday night to celabrate our birthday. He is 22 minutes older then me. I hope everyone has a safe drive to where ever they are going and Happy Thanksgiving!  Robbie

Tamales???   Or is this another dish?  I have tried a few tamales around the burbs and they are not quite what I got used to as texmex in Houston.  Maybe the deseeding makes them milder.  Maybe a different mole?  Maybe too much masa and not enough meat.  Seems like this would be a good WLS food though.

Hello everybody,
Today is my first day back at work after my surgery. Everyone is surprised at how much weight I've lost already.  So it makes me feel good that all this hard work is paying off. I also went back to the gym this morning although I'm only walking.
I'm not doing much tonight, may start a new scarf for a christmas gift but taking it easy.  I have a lot of catching up to do here at work so will keep this short.

Thanks Pam, I finally got it to fit, i tried about 4 times before it fit...  I cleaned out my closet today and getting all my bigger things packed up to take to a cousin. I can't beleive some of them are way to big for me now. But it feels good to get rid of a lot. Have a good night. Robbie
