Deb, sorry to hear about all the troubles going on with your family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Have a safe trip.
Has anyone heard had Jen is doing since here surgery a few weeks back? She's been on my mind a lot and I just wonder how she's getting along.
Where is Lucy? Pam? Kim? Jen? Paulette and the many others that are MIA.
Dawn, I hope you were able to get some answers from your doc. How is Riley?
Hope everyon has a great day. Stay Warm!

Christina
Deb, glad to "see" you again, and am sending prayers and healing energy your way. Please come back often, we are here to help you through.
Riley's doctor said that it was safe for me to go and see her, so of course, I did! The infection area was looking much better and she was acting normally. She would not nap for mom, so Amber went down for something to eat so that "Uma" (me) could rock her to sleep. It worked, and she got an hour or so nap in before they came in to give her more medicine. I talked to Amber this morning, and she says that the infection looks WAY better than it did, even since last night, so whatever they are giving her is working! We are now just waiting to hear about the results of the culture and if she can go home today.
While I was at the hospital, my doctor's office called and wanted me to come back in to have the boil site looked at. I went in and she looked at it and said that it seems to be gone completely and I was given a clean bill too! She said that the MRSA can "colonize" in our nasal passages, and advised me to wash my nasal passages with antibacterial soap, and to continue with good hand washing and sanitizing.
I told her that I was never told that the boil was MRSA back in September, and she looked in the file and said that it was "right in the file that "Sandy" had called an told me". I explained to her that all we got was a message on my answering machine that my husband relayed. I think something that important should have requested that I call them back so that it could be discussed in person. My husband just told me that the message said that they were treating the boil with the right meds at the time.
Anyway.....I am feeling much better today and so is Riley! Thank you ALL for the good thoughts, wishes and prayers. It is also my birthday, and when I woke up to my husband singing, I had forgotten! I guess that is a sign of getting older. Oh well, I am only 47 today, and I have almost half a lifetime left!
I am sorry that I missed last night's meeting, but I was just too tired and out of sorts. Did I miss anything important? Please let me know!
I wish everyone a fantabulous day!!!!

You were missed last night, we do hope to see you Sunday if you are up to it.
I sure am glad that you are doing ok and still don't have MRSA, I agree that the Dr. or at lease the Nurse should have talk to you in person or had you come back in to talk to them MRSA is nothing to mess with,
I sure hope Riley is doing better today and gets to come home, I hate seeing kids in the Hospital .
Here is a birthday cake for you

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
Riley will be going home today!!!! I'll bet she is home by nap time. The Augmentin-type antibiotic that they are giving her is doing its job really well and Amber said that the infection looks WAY better than it did, even last night. So that means that she does not have MRSA either! She will have an oral Augmentin for about a week or so, but she should be good to go.
I am SOOOOO happy!

I'm here, actually at home and have time to check OH for once. I had an early morning mammo appt, the granddaughters are with their dad, my daughter hasn't called yet, hubby is busy rearranging the family room and cleaning the carpet, so I'm hiding out in the office reading posts to try and catch up. Soon I'll head into my sewing room and start finishing up some Christmas gifts. I haven't had time to myself for quite awhile...and no fires to put out...it feels odd...LOL!!
I'm doing ok haven't lost anymore weight still stuck at 240 pounds but it is ok. 52 pounds is gone and I'm ok where I am at for now. I need to be able to concentrate on me and the weight loss will start again, I've been so busy taking care of everyone else, I forgot how to take care of me. But again it will be ok. My daughter has been out of work since Halloween but has started getting calls and interviews that seem promising. Actually had 2 interviews already this week with 2 more scheduled.
I won't be able to make it to the get together in Rockford , Earl & I are taking his "old' lift recliner to a friend in Michigan from the Over 50 forum, who will be having knee replacement revision surgery in December. Earl got a new lift recliner for his birthday, so we don't need 2 of them. The older one still works but he has had to repair it a couple times, but it should still get her through her surgery till she can get around better.
well off to do some presents and make some order in my sewing room.. have a great day,
Paulette
