Hi Carol and all my Illinois friends,
I am down with the flu, that seems to happen to me every year at this time.
As for Thanksgiving shopping it will be small holiday with my son in Boston now.
This year I am being very careful with money, I am trying to pay off all the other christmas's and expenses in years past. My son's 24th birthday is Tuesday next week and I used my frequent flier miles to send him a gift. I saved me from spending money I don't have.
Today when I was reading the paper, I tossed all the store sale adds to the recycle. My new thing is to clip coupons, I am somewhat worried the state of the economy is sending me into a depression. Anyone relate?
I am thankfull I made it to my two month surgiversary without any issues and a loss of 34.8 pounds.

I'm not even cooking for Thanksgiving dinner this year. We have been invited to dine with my son's girlfriends family. Since my older son will not be coming in and my daughter is having dinner with her in-laws, we thought, "why not" It does feel kind of strange not having to plan Thanksgiving. All I need to do is buy a bottle of wine (bought) and bring a dessert. I'm going to make pumpkin cheesecake.
Lately, I've been only buying things if they are on sale and using coupons. The economy is depressing, but I'm refusing to get depressed about it.
What will that do? I don't want to sabotage my healthy new lifestyle.

I can sure relate to watching my pennies and clipping coupons. My husband voluntarily quit his job a few weeks ago and so we are down to one income.
I sure hope he gets a job quickly but with the ecomomy the way it is, you never know. I sure hope you get feeling better soon!

hopefully the news will begin to turn more positive on the economy. It is times like these that test what we are made of.
I do hope your husband finds a position in which he is happy, as we move forward in life that becomes more important overall.
When I stayed home with my children I was very thrifty, as I began to work I kind of went nuts buying whatever anyone wanted.
Do you notice how control on eating almost leeds one to begin to control other areas of our lives? I seem to be either noting calories or balancing the checkbook all the time.

Evening kids. It has been a busy week and weekend. I got a lot done over the last few days and today. Dave and I are moving closer to having the above critter up in the Dells the week after next. I have a few errands and last minute things to do at work next week before leaving for WI on Friday. Have a good week.

ps - oh by the way Dave and I got to tour the Channel 11 studios yesterday, was that ever interesting. Saw the studio where they record 30 Good Minutes, Check Please and Chicago Tonight.
