Sunday Roll Call
I hope everyone is doing great! I've been mia but have been lurking.
WELCOME to all the new people who have been posting here this week!
Jackie is doing better and the children are adjusting to having a new brother.
The holidays are now coming up pretty quick. Has everyone started their shopping? I'm almost done. This year I'm also getting each of the grandchildren a savings bond. This will become my new tradition every year. They get so much from others that I will buy less and get them bonds. Need to buy a few gift cards and I'lll be finished.
I've got my cards ready to send the day after Thanksgiving. That is just something that I've always done and will continue to do. I'm really organized this year.
What's on your agenda?
I hope you all have a wonderful day today!
Hello everyone
I'm here at work. I'm working overtime this weekend. So not a great weekend. Believe me I'm already looking forward to next weekend. My daughter comes home from school!!!
I have all of my shopping done except for my secret Santa gift at work and stocking stuffers. Otherwise I have been done for awhile. I love Christmas, my daughter always tells me I'm like a little kid.
Anyway everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Carol, you are my hero. I haven't even started my shopping yet and am actually VERY depressed about Christmas this year. I just have no money at this point. I only buy for my neices/nephews and the greats....but it's still 9 kids...not even including my own. I know that I won't get anything and not that it should matter but with everything I went through this year, I guess I feel like my husband doesn't care. I won't get into it here, it's too depressing.
Anyway, nothing going on today other than dog sitting (for which my hubby volunteered me for) and going to pick up my boys later this afternoon.
I hope everyone has a great day!
I don't buy for a lot of people....four nephews.....five grandchildren.....my kids and their spouses/girlfriend..... my mom and mil. That's really it.
This year tho I have really cut back. Since I haven't worked in over a year and with the medical bills for myself and my husband I can't afford to spend too much.
I've talked to everyone in my family and they all understand and are also cutting back this year.
My husband and I don't exchange gifts for holidays or birthdays. We haven't done that in years. Cards yes, gifts, no. Both of us buy what we need when we need it and don't feel the need to buy each other. Thank goodness...I would have all new kitchen accessories as after all this time he still doesn't truely know my likes and dislikes regarding perfume, clothes, music, etc....
I am like you, I too have most of my holiday shopping bought, and a few things wrapped. I have my cards, signed but not addressed yet. I won't send mine until the 1st weekend of Dec. No one is getting alot this year. We have over indudged for to long, and it is time to cut back. I need to run to Kmart. target or Wally World and get some socks for my girls. And, in everyones stocking along with the socks, will be a gift card.(which i will pick up with my next paycheck) Plus I need to get 1 small gift for a 3 year old.
today is laundry and kitchen pickup. DH said something about home depot when he gets home. I made Eileens mock mac and cheese for later today, and a sample cheese ball that I want to take to the gettogether next weekend.
That is my agenda for today. Have a good one.
Hugs
I am sitting here as I type this sucking on a sugar free candy cane. Now, I could of just had a peppermint, but the candy cane was calling me,
I am so not ready for Christmas this year. We only buy for the kids, and usually have it at my house, but I am not doing it this year. I have no help, and DH has to work, and it take a lot to get mom ready. I am telling everyone Thanksgiving...lol
Everyone have a great day!
Dee
First there's the guest list, the menu planning, the grocery shopping,
the house cleaning, not to mention all the decorations, the cooking, the serving, the dirty dishes, the clean-up.....oh, my! maybe I don't want to be the hostess this year......
