Phych Eval???
Hello
Congrats on your psych eval. I had mine and from what I understand everyone is different.
Mine was kind of like an interview. She asked me a lot of questions. She wanted to make sure I understand and can handle my surgery. She was looking for any underlying psychiatric issues. Some of my questions were
How has my life changed since I gained weight.
How do I expect my life to change.
How do I see myself as an overweight person
Do I understand the surgery I am going to have
What kind of support do I have
She also asked
Do I hear voices.
Do I have suicidal thoughts
Was I ever abused
It really wasn't that bad and I was done in 1 hour.
Good luck

Are you mentally stable?
Any eating disorders?
Are you an emotional eater?
A volume eater?
Why do you want to lose weight?
Don't worry about which answers to give them. You need to be very honest with the psych and yourself.
Example:
Psych: Do you like sweets?
You: Oh, I hate sweets! I didn't gain the weight from sweets.
You really are a chocaholic. Unbeknown to him, he refers you for the RNY.
Six months later when you find yourself and
and
after constantly eating sweets.
Be honest...all questions are asked for a reason.
Good Luck!
