Dr. Cahill anyone???
Ok here's my question. I am trying to get the ball rolling on WLS. I called Dr. Cahill today and I was told his program director would call me back in two days. I understand that he's a great doctor. But I was wondering, take insurance out of the story. How long does it take from the first visit to the surgery table :) I was told today by his receptionist that he has no more appointments for 08. Just curious?? Thanks
It depends upon which office you go to. I went to the St. James office in Olympia Fields. He's also available in Dyer and Evergreen Park (or it may be Oak Lawn).
I started my process late spring, early summer. Everything was submitted during the summer and my insurance company wanted me to complete the six month diet. I managed to get one of the last spots for next month and I was told I was lucky.
So, to answer your question (w/o insurance) I'm thinking it will still take several months. You will need several weeks before you can get a surgical consultation, several weeks for the psych exam and more time to get your pre-op testing out of the way.
Cahill is in high demand. There aren't many bariatric surgeons in the south suburbs and he is one of the best. Did I mention he's also VERY, VERY, VERY easy on the eyes.
