Band being placed in 2 days-looking for suggesions of books to read to pass time
Hi Jen!
A GREAT "chick" book that I read recently is called "Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral" by Kris Radish. It will have you laughing and crying, sometimes both.
I also just read "The Notebook" for the first time and it is a great romance.
I took books to the hospital (I am an avid reader) but found that I could not concentrate enough to actually read them while I was there. Between the drugs, the walking, sipping, sleeping and the nurses coming in all the time, I found that short magazine articles worked better. I took a couple of "junk" magazines that worked for that purpose.
Good luck, I am wishing you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!

My favorite book is The Lovely Bones, by Alice Sebold. Its a wonderful but sad book. I couldn't put it down. Its a great book to read to help time pass during your recovery time at home.
Another that I liked was Memoirs of a Geisha. If you liked the movie you will like the book. It was really an interesting look into the culture.
Good luck with your surgery
