Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
Good morning Janet and Illinois.
Not much on my plate this week, but back to the doctor, but I don't want to get into that, feels like it is always so depressing. I spent this weekend reading outside, one of my favorite things to do.
I don't really have much on my mind this morning, but I think I will go get another cup of coffee, and my book.
Blessings,
Dee

Good morning Janet and Illinois!
I'm going to spend a few days at my daughters house and give her a hand while she gets used to her new routine with three children. Ava and Vince will be thrilled because I'll be able to take them out to ride their bikes and go for walks since mommy is not up to it. May as well since the weather will be crappy in a few days. I'll just be lurking for a few days. See you all later.
Hope you get to enjoy the next few days of warm weather.

Good morning Janet and the rest of Illinois!
Janet, I'm glad that your surgery went well, just follow orders so that you can heal properly. PLEASE let me know how the nail trimmer works out for your dogs. Maxie HATES getting her nails trimmed, and I even have medication to calm her, but it does not really calm her all the way. The vet can't really do it any better than we can, so if that trimmer works, let me know.
We had an interesting weekend. We met up with my elderly aunt, her daughter (my cousin), my cousin's husband, my brother (all from the Chicago area), Amber and Riley and all of us in Rockford for a nice dinner and some hangin' out time. It was great to see my aunt. This is the aunt who raised me for a time after my mom died. I have really missed seeing her. Hopefully, what little family I have will start getting together like families do.
Liv had a lock-in after dinner with the Methodist youth group she has been attending. (We were raised Lutheran, so I have no idea about the Methodist religion.) This is usually a good thing.
At 3:30 am, I received a call from the pastor saying that she was crying and breathing heavy and I should come right away. When I got there, she was hysterical----crying and "hitching", laying on the floor. It is a long story, but in the end, she had to be carried out of the church and continued to be hysterical. I guess the catalyst was when they were taking communion and watching a video of a song dubbed over scenes from "The Passion" which graphically show the crucifixion. These images seem to have thrown her into a panic or anxiety attack, which she has never had before. It was VERY scary for all involved. At one point, I thought I should take her to the ER to make sure that someone had not slipped her some kind of drug......it was THAT bad.
She slept for most of yesterday and when she woke up, she was a little sad but I just gave her lots of extra hugs and snuggles. She seems fine today, and we are hoping that she will not get teased at school. I really don't know what to do, but I am thinking that I should take her to a doctor (psychologist?) to help her process this and see if it really was a panic attack and if she is going to have those kinds of problems? I feel so helpless. If anyone has any experience that they could share, please do.
I am at work today as usual with no other big plans.
Thanks for listening!

That is very worrisome to me. From the daughter point of view, I hope she gets over that quickly. I have not seen the passion myself because I certainly do not need that to bring home to me the idea that God died for my sins. I am surprised that a Methodist church did that as they are in general not an aggressive bunch. I personally hope it was the film and not stupid kids. DD also had several crying jags during and after Bible studies. DD also ended up having SVT that had to be ablated.
SVT is SupraVentricular Tachicardia though I might not have spelled it right it is a fast heart rate caused by the electrical signals to beat finding alternate electrical pathways. The docs go in via the leg with a laser and zap the extra pathways. It is pretty easy to determine when it is happening by taking a pulse rate. DD had attacks for about two years before we knew it was not just from over exertion as she was on swim team and a competitive cheerleader.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. That is a very heavy, traumatic movie. As an adult, I cried the whole way through it. I am Methodist and our church has shown it but only to adults or teens with their parents present. I am shocked that a pastor would show this at a lock in. I think it was totally inappropriate. This is such a very harsh, in your face movie that really holds nothing back. I can see why Liv was so upset. I do think it would be a good idea to have someone talk to her to help her process this. Do you go to a church now? Perhaps your own pastor could talk with her. There are also christian counselors that would have a background of the biblical knowledge as well as the traumatic events of this movie. I do think that having her process this with someone is a very good idea. Hugs.
