My amazing Saturday
Yesterday I had no plans for myself. My mother in law and sister in law stopped by to drop off a computer for Mike to fix and said that they were going to an Intergenerational Women of Faith gathering and asked if I wanted to go. I said, sure.
So off we went. First we went to a church in Aurora where we had fellowship and some bible study. At about 4pm we headed over to a place in Aurora called "Feed My Starving Children". There we spent the next 2 hours learning about all the kids in the world who die every day due to starvation and then we also packed meals for them. We actually put the food, which consisted of a scoopful of chicken flavored seasoning with vitamins and minerals in it, a scoop of dried veggies, a cup of soy protien and a cup of rice. We then sealed these bags and boxed them up. After about an hour of doing that we had 62 boxed (each box had 36 bags of food) done. We then prayed over the boxes before they got sent out to a place in Africa where they would feed the kids there. It was such a rewarding day and experience. My sister in law and I said that we would be going back to do it again. After we were done there we went out to eat and then home. I didn't get home til about 8:30pm.
Here is the website of the place we were at.
