Warm protien drinks??
Hi there!
I am a little confused about why you would be adding pudding to your hot protein, but here's what you need to do to keep it from curdling (if the water is too hot, it actually "cooks" the protein and you wind up with curds in your whey). I have heard of using pudding in cold drinks though, and a small amount should not get too thick.
For a hot drink, you take your scoop of protein and mix it with an ounce or so of COLD water, into a smooth mixture like Elmer's glue. Then you add 6 oz. of your ho****er or coffee....I heat my water in a microwave for 1.5 minutes--2 minutes for 12 oz.---DO NOT BOIL!!!! If using coffee, it should be hot enough as it sits on the warmer.
Since I like to have a bigger drink than 6-8 oz., I will add Swiss Miss diet (25 cal.) cocoa, or the International Coffee (sugar fee, cafeine free) so that I can have a 12 oz drink. These both go well with chocolate protein. There is an International Coffee in a Chai Tea flavor that is sugar free that goes well with vanilla.
Hope this helps you get going this morning!

I'm no expert, but I know if the liquid is too hot, it will curdle the protein, so you may have to experiment with temps to fid the consistency and tast you like.
Also, if anyone here is into Starbucks, you can ask them to add a scoop of protein powder in your drink for an extra 50 cents a scoop.Theirs hasn't curdled on me yet.

Hi Nicolle -
I stopped by Starbucks yesterday.. Got my norm.. Americano, skim milk, 2 splenda. Asked for a scoop of protein. Drove away, took a sip and
. Chunks!!!!!! Oh my gosh, yuck. So I went back and told them I could not drink it with chunks! LOL
Of course, then they proceed to tell me that no one ever order a scoop of protein in Americano because "whey" does not disolve. Ummm. Why they did not mention this when I ordered is beyond me. So, I will not be trying that again!
