Good morning Christine and Illinois!

It sounds like you had a great weekend! So did I! They had a civil war re-enactment at the Dollinger Family Farm. Ava loved the ladies "playing dress up". We went on a hayride, did tons of walking. Found big pumpkins, tho I didn't buy one. The kids played in the play area, got to pet the animals in the family area, had popcorn, watched the train ride. There was a four acre corn maze but we didn't walk thru it. Didn't want Jackie going into labor there and not being able to find her way out.  Today it's just laundry..laundry and more laundry.

It's cool out today, so keep warm and have a great day!

Good morning all!  Sorry I haven't been posting, but live's been busy.  I agree on the aboretum.  Some of my fondest memories are of laying on the ground there and watching the colored leaves slowly drift down to the ground.  I could do that for hours!  I graduated my first degree Reiki class last week and I've been doing treatments for both Liz and myself ever since.  We bought a massage table to make it easier, and while I was at the store, I bought some hot massage stones and a warmer.  So we've been doing a bit with those as well.  I'm now qualified to practice Reiki on others.  I may start doing that sometime soon.  Unfortunately, the hot stones fall under the umbrella of "massage" and for that you need to be licensed.  That takes about a year of training and then national tests.  I'm thinking about doing that, but it's a big commitment and a whole lot of money.  I've been into bodywork for over 30 years, but I never thought about making it a career.  Now with my new body, and all the strength and energy, I'm considering it.  The problem is the transition from my current career to a new one and all the dependence I currently have on my income!  But step one is to continue to the next level of Reiki training and let the winds guide me as far as the massage career goes...  Liz gets to be the lucky one since I'm always free to practice the hot stones and massage on her!  Of course, the Reiki is a healing/energy type of treatment that brings a great deal of peace and relaxation, so that's very valuable in its own right.  This weekend was spent with a lot of activities for the kids and a good deal of house work.  We got a lot done, and I feel good about that, but it doesn't seem like the weekend was actually two days long, more like two hours!  I travel to St. Louis this thursday and return Friday, so I have a busy week ahead.  Oh, one thing that was exciting, I cleaned out my closet of all my extra large clothing and I have something like 10 pairs of pants and 30 shirts to go to the support group sale next month!  I love this smaller size thing!!!  Have a great day everybody!

Oh how I love the hot rock treatment.  Calvin and I will be going to Galena the first week in November and the day spa at the resort we stay at has the hot stone massage.  It is so nice, and I can't wait!  I have to say, Liz is one lucky women!

Paul,
My sister is a Reiki Master, Massage Therapist and she works out of her home and loves it.  She charges $75 per hour.  Oh and she also does reflexology too.  Your wife is a very lucky lady.

Good Morning my fall friends,

Busy weekend for all!  We went to Woodfield mall Friday night to walk, have some dinner, and buy Noah some school pants.  Noah was with my dad, so it was just Jeff, me and Brig. We went to Ruby Tuesdays and it worked great.  Love the salad bar cause I can get small amounts of lots of things and feel like I had a treat.  I ordered a lunch sized quiche which came with tomato salad and only ate a small but and took the rest home.  I was still able to walk around after dinner and it felt good.  Sometimes after I have been out to eat, I feel like I need to go straight home and rest. I must have dont it right for a change.

Sat, I went to ABMC support group and met Cathy.  How fun!  Our next meeting is November 15th and we are having a clothing exchange.  If anyone wants to attend, and participate in the clothing exchange, EVERYONE is welcome!  If you need info, let me know.  It is a good meeting and lots of nice people.

Sat night we went to our church's Octoberfest, and had a great time.  Again, I ate just enough and was able to have a good time.  Brigid loved the music and spent most of her night on the dance floor!  Noah was of course too cool to dance so he hung out with his friends.  Good evening for all!

Sunday we took the kids to Rosemont Theater to see Playhouse Disney.  They had a great time.  Brigid was a little unsure at first but warmed up to the characters quickly and was up dancing and clapping with all the kids.  It was a great practice for our Disney trip in December,  which is in 46 days, but who is counting??  LOL!!  We are disney freaks here!  I love it more as an adult I think.

Today is lots of errands.  We are going away to Notre Dame for the weekend, so need little things.  Van wash, need to get some screens fixed, go to bank, etc...

I put up some new pics yesterday of my 2 months out.  I am beginning to see a difference.  Hurray!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Yeap, folks I can let the house go really fast and be a couch potato. Dave and I do a lot of things together like going out of town etc. but there is the fact that I let things go until the next person visits the house. Oh, the floors and baths are clean but I let clutter accumulate on the kitchen counters, island or dining room table. Part of it is that Dave puts things down and not away so I get in the habit of not really caring.

Oh well, I guess I turned over a new leaf in the fall as opposed to spring with spring cleaning. Sometimes I plan way too much in the course of a day and do not get to some of it. Like today - it has been raining. Too bad so sad I am not going outside to get the containers bought, filled and ship shape like I said. There is always tomorrow . . . . . . . . BUT I can be a couch potato tonight and sit with satisfaction knowing that I will not feel guilty doing so.

ps   I cannot always watch the health channel because Dave does not like the blood and guts unless it is Dr G, Medical Examiner. I love to see all the medical shows. Maybe I should work in a docs office.  He does like Jon & Kate Plus 8; he loves that program.
