Monday Roll Call

Good Morning all. I did not have a chance to touch base yesterday. The Arboretum was beautiful. They have really improved the visitor center and other areas since we were last there, well the only time we were ever there in 2003. More on that later.

Well, work for me in a short while then home. I need to go get some containers from Target for next year's veggie garden. I already have some large round ones that will be good for herbs and a couple of pepper plants. I do not need the usual round garden large pot just some of those Rubbermaid Rough Neck deep storage containers will do the trick in a light color. Also an under the bed narrow long shoe or sweater container. One that is about 7 inches deep for lettuce. I have four even sized logs to stand vertically to raise the shallow container so it is closer for me to work in. I already have the bags of dirt to go in them and of course drainage holes in the bottoms.

ps - almost forgot to add about the Arboretum - strange you live in an area and sometimes do not take advantage of what is at your doorstep. The one and only time that we ever were there was in '03 when I took Dave out for a drive after his WLS. We did not realize that there was so much to see and do there as we only drove through it because Dave could not handle any type of walking then. We paid extra for the tram ride and really were able to see all the areas that we could go back and hike through or just drive out to and sit and enjoy nature. They have a cute children's garden that is interactive and fun for them. We even enjoyed it. Picinic areas for you to enjoy a meal in. Open areas to walk around lakes etc. They have programs where you can come and bird watch in the early morning or evening which is guided. We only scratched the surface of what there is to do and see. We want to go back in the winter after a beautiful snow and see the trees and vegetation with God's white beauty shrouding it. The spring is supposed to be fantastic also with all the bulbs that are planted under many of the trees. We found all this out on the tram ride. We do not think that we will ever go back to Chicago Botanical Garden in Glencoe as we have Morton Arboretum only 10 miles away and we do not have to fight the traffic to get there like we do going to Glencoe.

Good morning Christine and Illinois

Christine, you are planning next years garden now??? We aren't even through with fall yet.  I think you are jumping the gun.    Maybe that is how you get everything done -- all that wonderful planning.  I need to take lessons.

Today my garbage disposal gets fixed.  Yipee!!  I can't believe how much I use it.  I have really missed it.  I start my study group at church tonight.  Tomorrow night is one of my furbabies doctors appointments and Thursday I have my "6 month" surgeon visit.  Am anxious to see how my blood tests come out.  So I have an interesting week ahead.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Nope, not jumping the gun. Need it up and ready for when spring comes and I can be out there when it is warm enough. If I do not have things in place now then I will put it off next year and procrastinate over it. I "usually" always find something better to "do" like sit and watch the health channel on cable then NOTHING gets done or sit and surf on the  I am lazy at
heart.

I sure dont call you lazy.  I admire you for all you get done.  I am the classic example of lazy and just dont seem to get everything done.  I ALWAYS find better things to do.  That is why I was reading my book for study group last night instead of last week!

Good morning!  Only thing I have to do is go to the PS, I have been fighting an infection all weekend, he upped my dose of antibiotics, and tylenol only makes my temp drop for a bit.

Chris,
Can you come get us ready for next spring?...lol

Blessings,
Dee

Good morning Chris and IL friends!  Chris, you're visit at the Morton Arboretum sounds so lovely. I would never think of you as being lazy. You're always on the go. That's probably one of the main reasons you've kept the weight off.

As Lisa and someone said yesterday about their bands, I, too am having issues with . My problem is eating proteins, veggies and fruits. I can't tolerate any skins, steak or even chicken. Unfortunately, I have no problems with the sweets! I am seeing Dr. Guske this Friday and probably will have a cc taken out of my band. Today, I'm strictly doing liquids. I think that I have  at least 20 days of the past month. That is not good for my esophagus. I've had a lot of heartburn too. You would think that all of this would make me lose a lot of weight! Not!

I'm tired of this... I'm giving my throat and pouch a rest for the next few days to see how it goes.

It's only another week and a half, then I'm off to Los Angeles for the OH anniversary Halloween weekend. YAY!!!! You all know how much I love going on vacations.

I got to go to Sports Authority and get my boxing mitts and wrist wraps today, as I have class on Wednesday. So looking forward to bunching the bag .

Today I have my performance evaluation at work. We'll see how it goes.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday.

Hugs,
Lucy

Lucy when I had Dr Rosen take out 1cc this month I felt better almost immediately. I need some back in because I have gained about 4 pounds due to no restriction at this time! I am staying with the 1/2 cup but I am so hungry in about 1 to 2 hr after a meal...I mean tummy having pangs of hunger!

Next to my Sherry that I call my go-go girl you must be the goingest person I have ever known.

I had imagined you were doing a boxing exercise program and not actually hitting anything.  You be sure and do not hurt yourself.
