Monday Roll Call
Good Morning all. I did not have a chance to touch base yesterday. The Arboretum was beautiful. They have really improved the visitor center and other areas since we were last there, well the only time we were ever there in 2003. More on that later.
Well, work for me in a short while then home. I need to go get some containers from Target for next year's veggie garden. I already have some large round ones that will be good for herbs and a couple of pepper plants. I do not need the usual round garden large pot just some of those Rubbermaid Rough Neck deep storage containers will do the trick in a light color. Also an under the bed narrow long shoe or sweater container. One that is about 7 inches deep for lettuce. I have four even sized logs to stand vertically to raise the shallow container so it is closer for me to work in. I already have the bags of dirt to go in them and of course drainage holes in the bottoms.

ps - almost forgot to add about the Arboretum - strange you live in an area and sometimes do not take advantage of what is at your doorstep. The one and only time that we ever were there was in '03 when I took Dave out for a drive after his WLS. We did not realize that there was so much to see and do there as we only drove through it because Dave could not handle any type of walking then. We paid extra for the tram ride and really were able to see all the areas that we could go back and hike through or just drive out to and sit and enjoy nature. They have a cute children's garden that is interactive and fun for them. We even enjoyed it. Picinic areas for you to enjoy a meal in. Open areas to walk around lakes etc. They have programs where you can come and bird watch in the early morning or evening which is guided. We only scratched the surface of what there is to do and see. We want to go back in the winter after a beautiful snow and see the trees and vegetation with God's white beauty shrouding it. The spring is supposed to be fantastic also with all the bulbs that are planted under many of the trees. We found all this out on the tram ride. We do not think that we will ever go back to Chicago Botanical Garden in Glencoe as we have Morton Arboretum only 10 miles away and we do not have to fight the traffic to get there like we do going to Glencoe.

Christine, you are planning next years garden now??? We aren't even through with fall yet. I think you are jumping the gun.

Today my garbage disposal gets fixed. Yipee!! I can't believe how much I use it. I have really missed it. I start my study group at church tonight. Tomorrow night is one of my furbabies doctors appointments and Thursday I have my "6 month" surgeon visit. Am anxious to see how my blood tests come out. So I have an interesting week ahead.
Hope everyone has a great day!
