Friday Roll Call

Good morning - brrrrr.  Yeah, usually I can handle it but it must be a little damp also. I went looking for a long sleeved top and a sweater to go with my outfit for today. Casual Friday for me, no uniform.

Getting ready for the work day here in a short while. Had a great day at the conference I went to yesterday. Got some really good insight into the GenXer's and Millenial's in the workforce, Freedom of Info act, and hiring practices. There was more but do not want to bore you.

Tomorrow need to get out and spruce up the veggie containers and make them ready for winter before going to the Creek to serve lunch then back home afterwards to do more of the above until a party at the neighbors house for their annual Oktoberfest. Always neat for that because some is outside by the fire pit and inside if you get cold.

Hey there today is Friday!!!!

I go to visit my daughter this weekend.  I'm actually spending the night at her apartment.  Can you imagine. Your kids grow up so fast.

I made the appointment for the stress test.  I found out its a much more detailed stress test than I have ever had.  I have to have a nuclear stress test.  I guess they take images of your heart before and after you jog on the treadmill.  I was told it could take as long as 4 hours.  So I took Monday off.  This seems a little excessive I'm a fairly health 37 year old with no prior history of heart problems.  But I'm going to do what ever they want me to do.  I guess its better than not being careful enough.

My friend at work had a baby boy yesterday.  I lost the pool by one day!!!

Have a nice Friday

Good Morning Christine and my IL family,

Today I have nothing really planned during the day which is good because I have a headache this morning.  Only my 2nd one since surgery!  woohoo..   I am drinking a protien shake right now and waiting for kids to get up and out for school.
Later today after I get Tyler from football and drop him off at home, Jacob and I are heading up to Schaumburg to meet Mike and then set up for a Lutheran Marriage Encounter Weekend at a hotel up there.  After we set up we head out to dinner with Mike's mom, then home.
Tomorrow is football and possible a dinner with a bunch of girlfriends at the Oakbrook Maggiano's.  Not sure yet if I will go there or not.

Have a great day everyone

Monica, have you gone to Maggiano's since your surgery? The reason I am asking is that they do have a lot of appetizers that are WLS friendly. Look at their on line menu. Dave and I were just there on Sunday, the 5th at the one in Oak Brook and we were very pleased and we both only had appetizers.

Chris, I have never been at Maggiano's period.  The thing is the people that I am going with won this at an auction and it's a family style buffet....not sure what that means there...I am sure I will be able to find something.  Let me ask you this though....is there a "dress code" for that place??  I have NO dress clothes that fit me right now...LOL

I do not think Maggiano's has a dress code.  I have only been to the one in Schaumburg though for a breakfast meeting.  Really fancy place but I would say just a step up from Spaghetti Warehouse.  I would go in blue jeans and a polo if the group I was with would be comfortable with that.  As far as the food though I have had their buffets several times when working as a realtor in Houston.  You want to be prepared to not eat everything but there will likely be several salads, starters, and appetizers to choose from and there always seems to be sausages or meatballs.  Lookout for the desserts.

Randy, I disagree about the comparison of the two restaurants. Maggiano's is far superior.

I would say that depends on the store you go to.  The ambiance of the SW store in Houston was definately as good as the Maggiano store in Schaumburg.  Maggiano has a larger menu though.  My favorite chain Italian though is http://www.bucadibeppo.com/locations/default.aspx?location=1 303

I have not been to one here though.

Monica, you do not need dressy clothes to go there as jeans are fine. There are very few places now a days that have a dress code. Maggiano's is a very casual family establishment.  As far as the family style buffet it really is a family style meal brought to the table like at a wedding reception. It all depends on which family style meal they choose - lunch or dinner. Here is the link for the dinner family style http://www.maggianos.com/foodbeverage/default.asp?menu=Famil y%20Style%20Dinner you can go in and see what is on the menu for the lunch family style meal. The meat balls (they are almost the size of a league baseball) are wonderful as are the crab cakes. Their soups are wonderful also but very large even for the small.

Thank you Chris.  I will wear a nicer pair of jeans with a dressy top and nice shoes.  That will be good then.  I will also be checking out the link, thanks again!!
