Good morning Janet and the rest of Illinois!

Janet----glad to hear that Eddie is coming around a bit.  Your new apartment sounds lovely and I hope it is just the ticket!  I wouldn't mind helping you move, but we have other things going on that day.

Dee has my craft ideas running rampant.  That is a good thing, as we always seem to get our Christmas Projects started later than we should, which makes for more stress than is necessary.

I am working today, and it is our 16th wedding anniversary.  Tonight, we are supposed to go to "A Day in Rock City" committee meeting.  Real romantic, huh?  That's OK.....with his new car and the almost $ 3,000.00 spent on my car, those things will be considered presents enough.

I put some beans in water to soak this morning and will make bean soup, either overnight or tomorrow.  That will be good on this cold and rainy day.

I have decided to go into the city and visit with my brother on Saturday.  I hope it is fun.  That is.....if he doesn't have some sort of "emergency" in the mean time.  He is famous for canceling things at the last minute.

I wish everyone a lovely, if rainy day!

You - Bean soup

Chris - Split pea soup

Are these the Illinois equivalents of Texas Chilli that one must make a pot of when the first cool spell blows in?

Yep!  Soups and chili are always great when it begins to get colder.

According to my oldest daughter, my husband's chili is better than mine, so he now makes it in our house.  I have been adking him to a bit now to make a pot.  Funny thing is, I didn't really like chili before, but this year, I am craving it.......

We have a "Chili Shoot-out" here in Rockford the first weekend of every year.  It is a big event.

Board is sort of quiet today!!!  Must be  a bunch of busy

I have slept late the last two days but not so late today.  All tax forms are in the mail so I am in a much better mood.  I like the cloudy and rainy days.  I see our first flurries should arrive on 10/23.  Looking forward to it.  I like the sunny days as well just have gotten plenty of those while in Texas I guess.  Trees turning colors in October?  Who knew?  That is a TG thing or maybe even a Christmas thing in Texas.  I like the variety here.  I tend to move around more when the weather is between 35 and 65. CUL8R

Good afternoon,

Having a sick day here today.  I have been fighting what I thought was allergies since Thursday, and in the last few days, it has turned south.   I went to the dr yesterday and got some antibotics, inhaler and cough meds.  I was up all night last night coughing and have coughed all day today. No rest for over 24 hours, I am exhausted!  I can feel the wheezing in my chest, and my throat is sore from the coughing.  UGH!!

Brig went to the neighbors today, and Noah was at school til 3:00 so I had some peace, but no rest.

I am trying to keep up with the water at least. The eating is another story.  Hard to eat and cough at the same time.

Waiting for the sunshine to come back.  We have a busy weekend planned so I need to be better by then.  Sat is classes at ABMC and support group, and Sun we are taking Brig to Playhouse Disney for her first time.  A dry run for Disney in Dec.  She should love it!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Everyone,

Now that I am at work again I find it hard to get online. The boss won't allow us to surf the net unless it's for medical issues   I guess he wants us to work for the paycheck. LOL

Everything is going well. My colleagues have been very nice and supportive. Every night I come in exhausted though.  Miss my daily nap time, oh well.

I Finlay broke my stall and lost another 2 pounds.

Eileen - I hope you feel better soon!

So Saturday I will get to meet some of you that attend the ABMC support group meeting, I am excited.
