Good morning all and happy Columbus Day to you. I have the day off from work and am planning just a few things around the house like putting some laundry away and a few errands. We are going to go vote early also as today is the first day for that. I have my furniture delivered today between 845 and 1045 then we are free to leave the house. I am going to take my bike into the shop for a tune up and stop at the store for a few food items for my niece coming this early night/morning from CA. Not much else going on other than I will try to take a nap later on so I can make it through picking her up and needing to then get to bed for some sleep for work tomorrow.

I have two meetings out of the department this week. One is at Darien PD and the other is all day for a Records Conference at Naperville PD. Looking forward to both because it means getting me out of the stress of work for a while.

Good Morning Chris & IL -
Another week.. Oh how I miss working for the Govt.  I could use another day off.  LOL
Not too much going on.  Work is really busy.  Several people are out of the office with vacations and medical leaves.  I came in at 4am to try to stay on top of things.  I'm still not feeling totally up to par although I do feel some better.  I'm taking it one day at a time.  It will get better in time.  Calvin and I were discussing a little get away.  We both need it really bad.  We typically try to get away a few times a year and it just seems like things have been too busy and funds have been tight.  I think we are shooting for a mini get away to Galena sometime the first week in November.  It's one of our favorite places to just to relax, play a little golf weather permitting and maybe hit the day spa.  I sure could use a hot stone massage.  I'm melting right now just thinking about it.  If anything, it's just nice to wake up in the morning and sit on the patio sipping coffee overlooking the golf course.  It's so peaceful and feels like were miles and miles away.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!  Those off for the holiday, enjoy!

Christina, I think that you went to Galena last year at this time also. Hope it all works out with your schedules and that you both can get away soon. How is Outback going? And Calvin's job at Portillo's? Have they placed him at his permanent location yet? Hopefully it is not way up north in Rolling Meadows or somewhere inconvenient to drive to.

Hi Chris -
Galena is just a nice little get away for us.  Sept 20th is our wedding anniversary date so we usually try to go around that time but with Calvin starting a new job and me not feeling so great it just did not work out.  It's time for some "me/us" time.
Outback is going good.  It's not nearly as stressfull as Bakers Square.  I never work more then 3hrs -4hrs on a weekend shift and usually home by 10p and we are never assigned more then three tables so you can focus on good customer service.
Calvin should be assigned a perm store by 2nd week in November.

Hello everyone

The weekend always just flies by.  I have a half day at work today because I have the cardiologist and pulmonologist to go to today.  I am also stopping at my doctor's office to sign a release for my medical records to go to my surgeon's office.

I hope monica did well on her test.

Have a nice day.

Good morning Christine and Illinois

Well, it is Monday again.  They sure roll around fast!  I wish weekends lasted longer.  It seems like there are less hours in the weeken than in a week day.  Or else, I just try to cram too much in a weekend.

I need a vacation but alas, I have no vacation or sick leave left this year.  Oops.  Not a good thing.  I keep asking for a day off with no pay but so far even that has not happened.  Maybe I will get lucky this week.

Have a great day!

Good morning Illinoisans,

Being a little contrary this morning I would have to say Happy Columbus invaded the Americas day. This is a holiday that ****** me off. Not because the University of IL doesn't have it as a holiday but because we celebrate what was an invasion and abuse of the indigenous population. Enough soapbox for today!

We had a nice weekend enjoying the weather. I also had a long talk with my daughter on the phone and she is always a hoot. She is very supportive of my weight loss and she is the only one in the family who knows about it. The rest of the family doesn't get together often (we live all over the country now) and so they don't know. I wish she would have the surgery but that's another story.

Time to get off to work! Have a great day!

Connie, You do have a point. I never really thought of Columbus invading this new land.

I would like my oldest daughter to have either lapband or ryn but she is like your daughter. I neven offered to go to the seminar with her to  no appeal. Her DH is agaist it. At 5'8", she would be a knockout without the extra weight.

Good morning Christine and fellow IL friends! I'm writing this to you from my conference in Milwaukee WI.

Today I am doing well. No high fat, high calorie foods for me. They already were tempting this morning! I have my high protein drink for breakfast a bit later. I had a cup of coffee only! YAY!!  It's definitely going to be a challenge to stay on the straight and narrow.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Columbus Day!

Hugs,
Lucy
