BC/BS IN IL- DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CERTAIN PLAN?

I have spoken to my pcp and he is ordering me to go to the University of Iowa for testing of my lap band to make sure everything is okay because of the complications I am having.
However, I am in the process of looking into BC/BS of Illinois for insurance. I currently have United Healthcare but our plan does not cover WLS so when I had the band I did self-pay. Now as I am contemplating moving to a different insurance I am hoping that I may have some options here!
Does anybody know if when you have BC/BS of Illinois what specific plan does cover for WLS???!!!
I really am curious and wondering if anybody on this forum would know or be able to help me out on this. I would greatly appreciate it!!
PLEASE HELP!! I'm at my wit's end and between fighting the band, doctors and insurance....I just want to get back to the road of weight loss for my health!!
thanks for the help and for listening!!

I am buying the policy. We are up for open enrollment w/UHC right now and I am weighing my options to go get my own policy that I HOPE will cover WLS. I am tired of fighting UHC for one thing or another....either they blame my employer or they say they need one more thing to prove I need surgery.
Well, beings I already had surgery out of my own pocket and am having complications I am looking to possibly have a revision. And I may have to pay out of this from my own pocket in hopes that then I can go to another insurance.
I seriously don't know what to do anymore but the money is running dry and the options are getting limited. So, I am needing some kind of help to figure this stuff out.

Having had surgery already I can almost guarantee that you won't be able to get coverage under pre-existing condition status. Only through an employer might you get coverage but an individual policy is unlikely. Before you give up your work insurance, check this out thoroughly.
