Who Knew and how did you find out??

Okay I am slightly annoyed at the Kane Center right now.  I went to Quest by my house to have my blood drawn for my appt next week.  Well Karen didn't make down if the Thiamine was whole blood or plasma, so the lady at Quest called there.  The phones are down because they are moving!!  Soooo I get to go back on Monday morning to have the blood drawn, that is IF Kane center calls me back by then to tell me which it is.  So I call there on the way home to find out that my appt next Tuesday is in a new office in Hoffman Estates, the Arlington office is closed...wow..nice to let the patients know.
I knew that they were eventually going to move, but didn't know when. 
Okay, sorry, I am cranky because I am hungry...been fasting for oh about 15 hours now!!  yikes!

Really, I did not know that they were moving.  No notice in the mail or anything. 

Where is Hoffman Estates?  What is the new address?  Is the phone number the same?

Hoffman Estates is a rather large 'burb like Schaumburg. It kind of 'skirts' around the north/west/south sides of Schaumburg. The new office is in a four story office building at the Northwest Tollway and Rt 59.

Dave and I knew about the move. We have been going to the seminars and all of the girls had been keeping us abreast of when the big move would be. From our understanding they are keeping the other two offices in addition to the new one off of 59 and the NW Tollway.

Yes, their "information highway" lacks big time.

Thanks for the Info Monica. I sure didn't know either. My next appointment is at EGV. So, I guess if I needed to change it, they might of told me then.

Hi Monica and Kane Center patients. This was definitely poor customer service. Having their phones down for two days is unacceptable practice.

I tried calling the office yesterday and all I got was the answering service, telling me that the phones are out. Nothing about their move.

Sharing the change at the informational seminars, doesn't absolve them from their responsibility to tell their post-op or any patient. A small post card with the information would have sufficed.

I went to the support group the other week and Dr. Crane didn't say anything about the move.

Now, with the info here - not sure if they are having 3 offices or closing the Arlington Heights one - which is stupid as they are on staff at Northwest Community as well.

Sorry for this rant, but here it is! They've got some explaining to do.

Thank goodness I have my next appointment in Elk Grove Village. I don't think I'm going to want to go so far in Hoffman.

Lucy, sorry I was not trying to imply that Dave and I knowing about the move absolved them of not properly informing the patients. You can rant as much as you care to you are entitled. It is nice to have a forum to express one's self when frustrating situations like this come up.

The surgical group does share their offices with the gastro group, Arlington and EGV. From what I gathered the other docs are staying at them. The seminar girls "claim" that the surgical group are going to use them also. I do know for a fact that all the seminars in the near future will be at the new office. There will be a large spacious room to accomodate the attenders.

I havent heard anything about it either!  I have an apt there soon too.  I am going to a class in the morning, I will ask Dr Crane about it and try to get it all sorted out.  I will post tomorrow what I find out.  Their communication leaves something to be desired sometimes.  I love the surgeons, but some of the staff can be difficult to deal with.

Hello all, I saw the post about the Kane Center move. They did have major problems with their phone service provider, hopefully that has all been fixed. The phone numbers should stay the same. They may be leaving the A.H location, I just don't know when, and their really is no excuse for no notice to patients.....anyway the new address is below

4885 Hoffman Blvd (formerly known as Columbine Blvd) Hoffman Estates, IL 60192.

The street name is so new it is not on any GPS or Mapquest, or Google Maps. You have to use the formerly known as name if looking for directions.

Well gotta keep this short, I am off to support group this morning and as ususal I am running late, but I seen all the post and just wanted to update the information I knew.

I was not able to find the street address when I googled it.  This was really concerning me as I need to see MD next week.

It would be good if they mentioned former street name on the Kane Center Web site, as they have the new address listed there.

Advance notice would have been nice. Wouldn't a postcard with new location have been nice with location and map?
