Hey y'all! I am noticing that I kinda hold my left side when I ambulate because the muscle is still really, really tender.  When I apply slight pressure (more like support) with my hand I feel like a million bucks.  I don't want a back brace.  Does a very wide ace bandage sort of device exist that is all elastic and with no form to it?  Where can I buy one?

Thanks!!!

I was given a binder when I woke up in the recovery room.  Yes they do help.  Call your surgeon or pcp.  They can prescribe one.  In my area you can get them at the local er room or at a medical supply company.  They are well worth it.  Your insurance company should pay for it.

Ditto what Nancy said but I am surprised that your doctor did not have you in one when you came out of the anesthesia. For the record you can get them at medical supply stores and some Ma 'n Pa pharmacy stores.
