Thursday Roll Call
Good Morning! I was in Milwaukee yesterday for work and my project had all kinds of problems. So as soon as I'm done writing, I need to go back up there! Basically, the phone company was paid to put in a circuit. They verified the circuit and labeled it! But when I plugged into it, it was dead. To make a long story short, they simply put a tag on an old circuit and never actually wired it into the telephon network! Thank goodness it is in Milwaukee and not one of my offices that requires air travel to get to! Got to love Ma Bell! Yesterday was a bad day for food. I had a protein shake in the early morning and then never had lunch. At dinner, I had terrible problems so all in all, I had less than 500 calories for the day. Today I'll make sure I eat. Have a great day!
Good Morning Paul and my IL family,
I'm sorry you had problems yesterday and have to go back to Milwaukee today, but like you said, at least it's driving distance. good luck getting it fixed.
Today is a day of driving around for me, Tyler has 1/2 day of school, while the other two are off all day. I have to take Tyler to the ortho at 11am and then both Tyler and Jacob to the regular dentist at 2pm. After that it's back to the high school with Tyler for football practice and of course picking him up later. I will bring study stuff with me and work on that in between all of this.
I am thinking of changing my major from Vet Tech, to Medical Assistant and then going to to eventually become a nurse. Something I have been throwing around for a while and I have to make a decision by this Tuesday. I will still volunteer or do something with animals too though.
I am also getting down because my scale is "stuck". I am right at 203 to 202 lbs and I really just want to get under 200 at this point and for about 3 weeks now it won't budge. I think I need to up my calorie intake actually...this depression is taking away my appetite and when I do eat, I know I am eating too many carbs...I will work on that too!
Anyway, I must go back to bed for a bit, Tyler just left for the bus...lol I hate that the schools have different schedules and days off...makes for a crazy household and the dogs are looking at me like, hey, don't the other kids have to get up and play with us too now? lol....uhhh nope.
Have a wonderful day everyone and know that each and every one of you are special to me!

I think you would make a wonderful nurse! With the economy hedding south, I think that folks will be having to make tough decisions about having pets. I know that I spent over a thousand dollars last year on the health of my cats. If it came to my family or my animals, the cats would not have had medical care (I'm sorry to say). Whereas nursing is a field that persists even in the worst of economic times.
Thank you Paul. When my parents came to visit me in the hospital they were always telling me that I should be a nurse (they've been supportive of me whatever I have chosen, but they really think I would make a great nurse).
I know what you mean about money on animals...boy do I! I figure I can still volunteer at a shelter or some thing like that to get my animal kick too.

Hey girlfriend-you might just be happier in the human medical field. There is certainly a need for good medical help these days. Your soft heart w/critters just might be too soft to deal w/them on a daily basis-especially when hard choices have to be made. The same soft heart would translate to a care giver w/genuine empathy for the patient and I think you can be more analytical and practical when it comes to people. You'll kick butt in either field-I see only good things in the horizon for you.

I also think you would make a great nurse! There is great opportunity in the nursing field.
I was just saying to Todd the other day that I would like to study nursing and he said I should go for it. Then I got thinking of how old I am, and would it really be worth it in the end for 10-15 years of employment? Not sure........
Will you still try to get something in the vet field while you are studying? Or do you have enough credits to starts as an MA right away?
Good luck is whatever you decide!
Luv ya,

You are NEVER to old to learn new things, that's what I always say. If you really want to do that, then I agree with Todd, go for it! Hell I am 38 and starting over...you can do it too!
I used to work in a medical office for 7 1/2 yrs and learned a ton there so I do have work experience that would get me in the door as a receptionist and that's what I am going to start applying for now.
