Monday Roll Call

Afternoon all!

I'm finally on the "loser's bench"!  I had my Lap band surgery on Friday and had to stay 1night in the hospital.  I'm feeling pretty good but having trouble with the gas pain.  I'm walking as much as I can and drinking my water too.  I keep telling myself that "this too shall pass" and I will be feeling normal again soon.  Don't want to rush anything.  I have found that I get achy pretty quick if I'm sitting or laying too long.  For that reason I'm not sleeping that great.  I'm usually getting a couple hours at time and then I have to get up and move around.  I sometimes get a pain like I'm going to produce a good burp but it never comes to pass.  I don't think it's anything to worry about but I am monitoring it.  I think, perhaps, I may be taking my liquids in too fast.

Anyway, I could go on and on....Just thought I'd check in post an update.  I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi All,

This weekend was busy, I went to ABMC for a WLS class and stayed for the bypass support group.  I got to meet Lucy and some very nice people and we had some great conversations.  It really does help to talk to others who have been in your place and know what to do.  Lucy had some pics from her cruise with her and they were great!

Sat afternoon, we went to Woodfield and signed the papers to buy our Disney Vacation Club home.  We vacation at Disney at least once a yr ( disney freaks we are, and proud of it!) so we decided it was worth it to invest in the club.  I am so excited to be able to have a Disney vacation coming every yr til 2057, or at least my kids will......lol!  Then we met friends for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, what a great place for me to eat.  I can eat small portions of alot of protein and soup and feel like I did not miss out.  Then we went miniature golfing to Congo River Falls.  We had alot of fun!

Sunday we met another one of my friends and her kids at Brookfield zoo, what a beautiful day!  It was a perfect day at the zoo, warm, breezy and not too crowded.

Today was my first set of blood work since the surgery, so we will see how I am doing on Wed when they come back.  After the blood work, went grocery shopping for all our healthy stuff.

I made Dawn's pumpkin pie pudding for desert tonite and the kids loved it!!  So did I!  Hurray for a tastey treat!!  THANKS DAWN!

I made meatloaf and mashed potatoes and for the first time since surgery, I was able to tolerate a small and I mean small piece of meatloaf.  I have been having alot of trouble with ground beef, but I made it really juicey and soft.  Of course mashed potatoes always go down easy.

Not weighing myself everyday anymore, it was leading to psychosis, so I am going to try twice a week at most and once a week if I can.  I am feeling better everyday and getting my energy back slowly.  I can feel a difference now in my ability to bend over and do things with my kids.

It should be a beautiful week, and should be nice for Dawn's tye dye party.  Hope to see alot of you there!

I couldn't eat any type of beef for almost 5 months after surgery, then one day I tried it again and it's been fine.  Well I have only had ground beef so far I think...LOL

Hi all!    I'm set to have surgery in October (with any luck).  I spent my weekend resting and relaxing.  Still recovering from pneumonia but I'm going back to work tomorrow.  Would rather work than be sick  - that's for sure!

Hope everyone has a great evening.
