support groups

Hi everyone!

This is the first time that I've posted anything but I check in almost eveyday to see whats going on and how everyone is doing...so I feel like part of the family!  I am 14 months out and down 128 pounds.  This is the first time I've been under 200 pounds in 20 years and I can't believe it!  I'm looking for a support group around the Downers Grove area (the west suburbs of Chicago) I think I'm ready to meet new people and start getting out in the would again!

Hello and welcome. Who is your doctor? My doc is in Downers but you have to be a patient of his to go to the support groups.

The Kane Center has a support group that is open to the public and they meet on I think Friday's and Saturday's. There is a small co-pay of I think 10 bucks. They meet at Alexian Brothers in EGV. Here is the link for the support info http://www.suburbansurgicalcare.com/html/support.html

My surgery was done at Hinsdale Hospital by Dr. Bruce Dillion.  I don't know if Hinsdale has a support group.  No one at the hospital seems to know anything about one.

Lorrie, are you going to continue to have your PO care with our doctor? If you want you can switch to another doctor that takes on PO patients from other doctors. You could call Dr Rosen's office on Monday and inquire on switching if you desire then you can start going to his support group.
