SEVEN YEAR WAIT LIST, anyone else run into this?

I applied at UIC with medicaid and they told me they'd
accept me for the evalutation process but that it has a
SEVEN YEAR wait list, just to even be evaluated. ANY one else
run into this problem? I'm so disheartened, I guess I have to
just keep applying elsewhere, I really hope everywhere doesn't
tell me the same thing.

 I have not heard of that i went to my first doctor appointment and that was in July and i got everything done by August 29 so they turn myself into public aid and i got my approval yesterday on the 18 September and I'm having surgery on October 7 Th 

:sigh: I hope elsewhere will be like that!

I would check around.  My sister is having surgery in Urbana before christmas and it has not had to wait long at all.

BTW I grew up in ****ro!

I was going to go to u of c and they told me 6-8 months at the meeting then I waited and after 8 months they told me I was 40th on the list and they take 4 people with medicaid a month so I had another 10 months to wait. I said forget went to my surgeon who doesn't accept medicaid but the hospital does so I paid his fees out of pocket with care credit and then the hospital was covered. It is alot but so worth it and I had surgery 3 weeks later. You would have to call and ask prices I belive it is about 7000 for his fees.; I used care credit. He is the best surgeon in the country and worth his weight in gold! He even invented some of the tools for lap RNY.
