Tuesday Roll Call

Good Morning Illinois!  It's a *****illy this morning but I hear it's suppose to warm up to a beautiful day!  I stepped on the scale and am down another pound so I'm having a good start.  Also, I made my protein shake with my very own, home made kiefer!  It was my first attempt at making kiefer, but it came out just right.  As you know, I'm into this whole probiotic thing.  Anyway, we are at tuesday so the week is passing by as it should.  Have a great day!  Paul

Good Morning Paul an Illinois!

Well it is Tuesday and the river is still rising.  As of this morning there is only one way to cross the Illinois river and that is Interstate 39.  The other bridges are pretty far above the river but are under water.    It will be an interesting day.  Historic flooding in northern Illinois -- just what everyone needs.  I am thankful I dont need to go to the other side of the river.  The bridge on 39 has been under construction for 2 years so that traffic will be crawling!

The up side is that the rain has stopped.  Hopefully the waters will start going down later today.  Fortunately, I am up really high but do sit over a mine shaft which I am sure is flooded.    I do have mine insurance in case my home ever decides to sink into the mine. 

Such fun thoughts for a Tuesday morning.    Hope everyone has a great day.

Paul - Congrats on that scale movin in the right direction.
I once again wanted to stay in bed.  It's going to get even harder as winter approaches.  Let me be the first to say..  Somehow, I convinced Calvin to let me light a fire in our bedroom fireplace.  I was soooo chilled last night.  It was nice and cozy.  He usually does not even like a fire on a winter night so I was surprised that he caved.  Maybe his temp is changing??  I can only hope.
Anyway, nothing exciting going on.  Same ol'e stuff.

Paul-  congrats on the weight loss.  I will Check mine at the end of the week.   

Nancy-  Your house is built over a mine shaft.  How interesting.  I didn't even know they had mine insurance. 

Well its another day.  I have to go shopping tonight for baby stuff.  I love shopping for baby stuff.  We're having a baby shower for a co-worker.  So that's it for my day, working and shopping.  As you can see I'm still a question mark.  My efforts to get my picture on OH have failed yet again.  Who knows maybe I will be skinny by the time I have a picture up.

It is strange to know you are sitting on top of a mine.  When I bought my house, I had to sign away the mineral rights.  When I bought the mine insurance, I asked my insurance agent the question of "They say you insure your house and you always have your land, but in this case if your house sinks, you don't have your land, so then what?"

I have some friends whose house's foundation shifted because of the mine.  It became uninhabitable and the state mineing insurance purchased the property and they had to move.  It is a slightly creepy feeling but I dont think about it very often.
