Monday Roll Call
We have been keeping ourselves pretty busy around here lately. I am more involves in the school and PTO this year, so I helped with Market Day on Friday, and now I need to get my butt in gear and get moving on the student directory! This is my first year doing this, so I hope I didn't get myself in over my head! lol
We have also been discussing all of our options when it comes to our living situation. We actually looked at a house yesterday, and I loved it! It has a HUGE fenced in backyard, and it is on a cul de sac, so those 2 things alone were a huge plus for me!

I also hit a major milestone for my WLS yesterday! I got on the scale, and I am now down a total of 69 pounds, which gives me less than 100 pounds to lose! That was so exciting!
I hope everyone is doing well, and there is not too much damage from the rain.
Mommy to Brandon (7), Colin (5), Alex (3), and Kelsey born 6/24/09!

I hope the advice makes things better for you Paul. Have things gotten worse and I missed it or is this just the difficulty you had been having?
I am really bummed this morning. Our only car turned on the check engine light and so I looked under the hood and my guess is I will need the water pump replaced. I have an extended warranty I purchased from the dealership when it was new but this will be my first time to have to use it. I really, really, really cannot afford to have a car that is not working or in the shop for more than a few hours or that I have to pay for repairs on. Those of you for whom your weight has caused you to not have work understand how frustrated I am. If the car is down then there goes DWs work as well or at least her vacation and personal days if we can find a way to fix it if the warranty is a problem. The dealership in Houston that sold us the car went out of business about a year later due to a freeway expansion and their not wanting to relocate to the options Chevrolet gave them. I really just do not like cars and I really, really, really do not like modern cars when something goes wrong with them and I have to deal with repair folks. Oh, enough whining from me this morning. Please pray that I will get a clear head and do the right things to get through this and that I will stay on my diet through it.
That really sucks about your car. I hope it all works out for you. I really understand your pain. I was having major problems with my car last year. In May 2007 I paid $1700 to repalce my transmission. Then one thing after another started to go: My AC quit working, and my car started to make this really loud noise (my wheel bearings needed to be replaced for $400 and my tires needed to be replaced too), then I was told I needed to replace my timing belt. That was it...I was facing another $1800 in repairs!!! In September 2007 I broke down and bought a brand new car. It is so nice, I love not worring about every little noise. What sucks though is that I took out a loan for the transmission and I'm STILL paying for the loan until next May!!!
May your car start every time you want it to , and cost you no more money in repairs.
So many things going on! So much rain! Hope that sun decides to come thru! Lucy and I had a great time on our cruise! Wish we were still there!
Now the fun part comes.....unpacking and cleaning and getting things in order. Back to the daily routines! I think I need another vaction just to rest up from the airport delays! I hope to never see Miami airport again!
Have a nice day everyone!
Pam
We are drying out here from the flooding and HURRAY the sun is out. I have the windows open and it feels good to have fresh air flowing thru the house.
Brigid's party had to be postponed on Sat due to the flooding so we had a few people over yesterday for a smaller version. Everyone had a good time and ate to their hearts content and I sent home left overs with everyone. Paul, your pulled pork was a big hit!
Today is her official bday so my baby is 2! I cant believe that exactly 2 yrs ago about this time, I was having my csection and out she came. What a great, magical day! I remember just looking at her and thanking God she was healthy. I cried lots of happy tears that day!!! We will sing to her again tonite after dinner and she is having a ball playing with all her balloons today.
I did well with the eating, not really tempted by any of the goodies for the first time. I even wiped my hands after cutting the cake and did not lick off the frosting. I made alot of the things sugar free and no one even noticed.
I am still having a hard time with the drinking. Anyone experience this? It is uncomfortable still, today is 5 weeks out. I am thirsty all the time, but it is hard to drink. I was a huge water/crystal light drinker before the surgery and now I know I am slightly dehydrated because of not being able to get enough water in. When were you all ok to use a straw? That might hel*****t Im not sure. Any ideas would be great.
Today is just recovering from the weekend and enjoying Brigid for the day. It's her day and I want to play with her and take her for a walk. SHe loves outside and to walk! It will get me moving too!
I hope everyone has a great day and is drying out from the weekend.
Well it sure was an interesting weekend. Ok, let me first say that I am 3 weeks out from surgery & 1 week out from the liquid diet. My boss who has beena bachelor all his life and just turned 40 got married over the weekend! So we went to his reception and it was great. While we were gone for the weekend I ENJOYED my last delicious steak dinner for god only knows how long and my favorite italian place too. So this weekend was my last hurrah I guess. The steak was go good. I hope that I will be able to have steak in the future after my sleeve heals. Its not like I eat alot of it but it really is one of my favorite foods.
We came home to what? 4-6" of water in our basement. NICE! So we spent yesterday getting our sump pump back from SIL whom also had water in their basement so we could get the water out of ours. We got lucky though. We didn't really have much on the floor down there. There was a bag of clothes that got ruined but they were just stuff for a yard sale. So no biggy! A few other things got wet but no loss of anything. Just a wet mess that we worked on cleaning up and now we have it trying to dry out since the water is out. We are lucky it's not living space but it's only just a icky storage basement that I HATE to go in!
Talked with my dietician Friday. I was planning on doing 2 shakes & a meal to boost my WL and she said not really necessary since I am starting the liquid diet next week anyway. She said I will lose enough on my liquid diet to not worry about not losing any before seeing the surgeon next week for my 2 week preop. I can't even believe I am saying that. Only 3 weeks away from surgery. It will be so real next week when I start my liquid diet & have my preop with my surgeon.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I hope everyone is drying out, and no one had to much damage from the rain.
