Sunday Roll Call
Have we had enough rain yet?!?! It is really unbelievable! We had three or four weekend outdoor events here in Rockford that went on, but had almost no attendance. I certainly wouldn't go look at art in the rain. I spent the day knitting with my friends and then we went to a dinner dance for the med school. I got to talk to two docs about lecturing for me and another one who roasts his own coffee and sells it, so I put in an order. I thought it was a great evening! It was actually fun to get really dressed up and go out and have lots of people to talk to. There was a silent auction, so I'll find out tomorrow if I bought something. We didn't stay till the end. It was nice to be able to stand up for a long time and not be in pain or out of breath.
I still haven't heard from my son, which is typical for him. One of the news pictures was on hiway 146 which goes right by his subdivision and there was water on both sides of the road, so I'm sure they have major damage. I know he evacuated so I am sure he is safe. His theory is no news is good news, so he'll probably send an email in a couple of weeks. Oh well.
Try to stay dry, folks!

Good Afternoon Il family
I have been up and cleaning all morning...I have been on a rampage with the kids because I am so tired of having a messy house because they can't clean up after themselves or help me clean when I ask them to. We have a "big city wide garbage day" this coming Friday and it means we can throw out everything and anything without paying for stickers for it. I plan on having a TON of stuff this time. I missed the spring day because it was a couple of weeks after I got home from the hospital and I wasn't about to be lugging garbage around. (of course no one else was either!)
I am resting for now and then will study for my final exam. I have a job interview tomorrow at 3pm and then Tyler's football game which was rescheduled from yesterday to tomorrow at 4:30pm I will be rushing to get from the interview to his game but that's okay. I don't miss his games if I can help it.
We have no flooding in our basement, thank goodness, but the lake behind our house is over flowing....there are streets closed around here and just massive puddles everywhere. I hope everyone stays safe and has minimal damage from this crazy weather.
So true and once you are a parent is hard not to be a parent to children as far as watching them when they are headed for danger and trying to let the official parent know. Did you see my Rugs posting on the main board? I could really use two small rugs for the doors onto my balcony this winter and I have not liked anything I see in stores.
