Its just too awful for words.
Today one of my best friends came over to my desk in tears it seems that her cousin Amber's three month old baby girl was attacked and killed by two pit bulls. I guess the scene in the house was very gruesome. These dogs basically ripped this poor baby apart. The baby's grandma was watching her and got injured herself trying to rescue the baby. This happened in Las Vegas and I looked it up on the internet and the story is all over the local Las Vegas news. The thought of it is so horrific, it haunting me. This poor woman tried for years to get pregnant and she was so happy to have this baby.
Then another co-worker told me her daughter is one of the people in Houston evacuating. They may lose eveything they own. My friend/ coworker is just beside herself in worry. I thought about it and I can't even imagine the worry and panic I would be feeling if my daughter was down there.
So if I can ask everyone to remember these two people in your prayers today I would really appreciate it.

I will certainly keep these folks in my prayers. I live in a community that had a pit bull incident several years ago that was all over the papers. All I can do is think why people need to have such dangerous dogs in their home? We have cats and when my daughter was born, my mother asked if I was worried about my childs safety from the cats. I told her that if any one of our cats so much as hissed at the baby, that cat would be put to sleep that day. I love those cats and could never hurt them, but my children are much more important then any animal! Why any parent would ever put their child in the same home as potential killer dogs is a mystery to me. Is it really that important to look tough by having mean dogs? The good news is that the cats and my daughter have a great relationship and they have never hissed at each other!
What a horrible day of stress. I cannot even imagine the loss of a child in that way. I have never understood how a parent can endure losing a child. This has to be horrible for them.
As for the other friend with the daughter in Texas, I sure can relate. My niece lives in New Orleans. I worried over her during Katrina and Gustav. It is a horrible feeling. You have no control over the situation and can do nothing to prevent anything from happening. I am so thankful that Ike is not hitting New Orleans but so sorry for the Texans.
I will keep both families in my prayers.

I agree with you Paul. I wouldn't have these dogs around my kids. As you know the owners of these dogs always think their dogs are wonderful and would never attack anyone. It only takes one time. From what I understand the dogs were "jealous" of the baby. They were becoming increasingly territorial. What a horrible way to learn a lesson about having dogs around your baby.
