Hey Christine,

My mom and her girlfriends go to the dells every year for this weekend.  Look for a group of about 10 ladies being loud, and having a great time.  They love going to Monks, and there is this other bar that they go to for the live music.

The better majority of the bars in downtown Dells have live entertainment. Monk's on occasion. She probably goes to one of these - Showboat, Sharky's, Riverwalk (tho the cult across the street at the White Rose B & B do not like the music, they say it is too noisey for their guests), Country Keg and The Sand Bar. I generaly do not go into the bars for the live music it is too loud and you cannot hear the person next to you talking. We enjoy the view of the river from our balcony. (see hotel info below)

I do not even try to go into Monk's on Wo Zha Wa weekend there are too - too many people. You just cannot enjoy the place. The place is so narrow that even the people walking in past your table where you are eating are bumping into you. Besides there are so many organizations that are selling food (on the closed side streets) that is so great that you want to support them also, like the fire dept. Tell her it is going to be cool up there this weekend and to take some sweats, jeans and sweatshirts. And there is the possibility of rain on Saturday and Sunday. Have her go on weather.com and look up zip code 53965 for WI Dells and look up the 10 day forecast in the next few days.

Dave and I are staying at Riverwalk Hotel down the hill from Riverwalk Pub (not connected) it is the only hotel that is on the upper Dells of the WI River. That does not count Chula Vista that is 2 miles north on the river. But Chula does not have a view of the river, it is jut above on the bluff.

Thanks for the post, the girls are going to the Showboat and Monk's.  My mom loves to hang with her girlfriends and have a good time.  They always look forward to the Wozawha weekend, and even start the count down when they get back.  This year they had a 9 month til the Dells party, a 6 month til the Dells party, 3 mon.....

I absolutely love all of the ladies she hangs with, and have actually become friends with them as well.  We all get together during the winter for Amazing Race parties at each others homes.  BTW Amazing Race starts on September 28th.

I think that it is a great thing that my mom has girlfriends that actually do things  together, my husbands mom is a widow, and doesn't have that support, and it really upsets me.

Anyhow, you and Dave have a great time, enjoy the beautiful cool autumn weather.
