Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good Morning my IL family,

I had a very nice weekend.  Saturday was a great day out at my neice's new house, I just love her and her family.  I made the hamburger dip and the apple crisp and they were both a huge hit!  yay...

Yesterday was a quiet relaxing day and I really didn't do much of anything.

today I will do homework, run to the post office and then Tyler has a home football game and immediately following that is the open house for the high school, so it will be busy come 4pm!

Have a great day everyone!

Monica

Good morning Paul and the rest of Illinois!

I had a terrible time getting up this morning also, but I DID it and got about 35 minutes on the bike!  That was a big deal for me as I have really not felt like doing anything not required.  I need to get back into the mind-set that exercise IS required.  It is kind of hard when it does not help.  I do not lose whether I work out like a mad women or not, so.....what is the point?

The weekend was pretty good, I took the kids shopping for jeans for school and Liv had her first rehearsal on Saturday.  Jeans shopping with a 12 year old is interesting to say the least.  It finally got done and we went to one of the neighbor's for a birthday party.

Yesterday, Todd cleaned his garage and I cooked baked potato soup for David (and the rest of the family and neighbors).  Liv made cookies and everyone enjoyed a nice supper together.  My neighborette brought over a lovely cucumber salad and I made a salad of fresh tomatoes, basil and mozzarella cheese.  I have still been feeling a bit out of sorts, so I actually took a nap yesterday too, and early to bed.

Liv has volleyball games tonight, tomorrow and Thursday this week, so that will keep us busy.

David's team won on Friday (and the varsity too) so now we only have 7 more wins needed.

Lisa's new picture is lovely and now we just need a new one from Kim M.  My thoughts are with Karen and her family as they deal with the unexpected loss of her sister-in-law.

I'd better get back to work now.

Everyone have a splendid day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good Morning All -
Happy Monday I think... Coffee maker at work crapped out and I could not believe how quickly I started getting a headache w/out the caffeine.  Yikes.   I scooted on over to Starbucks to get my fix.  So, today is just another work day for me.  Nothing big going on.  Hoping to hear something from Outback Steakhouse soon on a server position.

Well, I have to get this party started.  I have lost of work to do.  HR is coming out on Thurs & Fri because of several formal complaints that were made.  I'm nervous but I guess it will all work out the way it's supposed to.
Have a great day.

ummmm, how much coffee do you drink a day? I started cutting down on my caffeine about a year ago during the work week. I only get about 1-2 small mugs a day. I just measured the mug and I only have about 8-9 ozs a time. Sometimes the second one at work goes cold and I do not drink it. I do like my java on the weekends and will have sometimes up to 3 mugs in the early morning. It took me a long time to cut back but I feel so much better in the energy area. I remember when we (LWB & WISH) needed to cut out our caffeine pre op, but I digress. . . . . . . . . . and make sure we do not over indulge when cleared to have again.

Chris

PS I am not surprised about the test that Outback had you take. We have talked to the servers at The Melting Pot and boy 'o boy do they have to take a test. I think that they (Melting Pot) have to know each and every ingredient for everything on their menu. You probably already know but then each and every server is on a level playing field in their knowledge of the restaurant's food fare.

Hi Chris -
I think it may be a bigger problem then I thought.  My butt is dragging all the time.  Combination of too much caffeine and lack of exercise would be my guess.  Plus they do say it increases your appetite.  Yep, I've got that too.
I went w/out caffeine for six months prior to my surgery and I think it was at my 3mo post op appointment I got the green light to drink coffee.  So I went for nine months w/out ANY caffeine and did just fine.  Well like everything I do.. I can't do it in moderation.  I drink it all day and night.  Brianna's eyeballs pop out of her head everytime she asks me how much coffee I drink and Dr. Rosen just smiles and says.. well, maybe you should try to cut it to 1/2 reg 1/2 decaf.  Maybe one 20 oz instead of three. (a little bit of an exageration)
I have to get back to the basics.  I just get tired of water and now with the weather getting cooler, I really like my coffee even more.  Hot tea has never been a favorite.
I have to just turn this over to God and pray about this.

You folks sure are a bunch of go getters.  I notice Chris has not reported in yet.  I hope the Sandwich Fair went well even though being new to IL I do not even know what that is.  I tend to think it must be a local agriculture show and fair.  I showed cows when I was in high school as well as chickens and turkeys.  I keep hearing about county fairs too late to plan to go and not being in walking shape would likely have to forego that anyway but it excites me to read about them anyway.

I slept in until 7:45 and have really not done much except drink a High Pro Slim-Fast and take in some sun on the balcony.  I should write a few letters today and set up an appointment with my Nut.  Maybe get the ball rolling towards seeing Madura in a month or so.  I think I panned on doing that last Thursday as well.  Likely need to call the DRS people as well if they will talk to me.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Randy, I usually do not check in until after work unless I have started the Roll Call.

I did check in yesterday afternoon and gave an update after we came back from the fair.

Dave and I are home for the day. We started out early, like 5 o'clock leaving the house this morning. So that means that I was up close to 415am.  I first dropped off all of my clean uniforms at work for me to wear for the next two weeks at work. I have a short week this and next week so all that I washed will get me through this week and then some.

We went to a worship service at 630am at the Sandwich Fare then walked around until we were able to get in and have breakfast at one of the early food places. Then we walked more, looked at all the live stock, crafts, home ec things, canning etc things. Then we ate at Fay's BBQ, listened to some of the live entertainment, saw the classic cars, commercial buildings - then stumbled into the car and drove to St Charles to the "Blue Goose" grocery store and picked up a few speciality things ( like S & W popcorn that is sold at the fair) not available at Jewel or Dominicks locally. Went to our local Ma 'n Pa grocery and got bread, deli ham, cream cheese. I came home and made my ham, asparagas and cream cheese roll ups for snacks. Actually one of them is more like a meal, very filling.

We are tired as we walked close to 5 miles or so my Garmin GPS pedometer says. That does not count the buildings I was in because it cannot read the sateilites (SP?) from inside. The actual reading was 4.35 miles.

Work tomorrow and also Tuesday then I am off for 5 days from work returning on Tuesday morning next week. I need the time off.

 &

Chris

The Sandwich fair is a county fair for DeKalb County out SW of Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Schaumburg. It was door to door for us 120 miles. Northern IL University is in DeKalb CO. That is where the shootings took places early this year.

Get on the horn and make your apts so you can get on the road to health.

Good morning everyone,  I hope your weekend were fun filled.  Mine was great except for the Jekyll and Hyde game that my 2 year old son is playing.  I tell you, he is our greatest joy, but he is also our greatest exhaustion.  One minute he is so loving and laughing, and the next minute he is screaming his head off so loudly the entire neighborhood can hear him, you would think that we were beating him or something.  DH and I just look at each other, baffled.  I am guessing that he was just over tired from the day before, and he thinks  that he is 8 years old, and should be over at the neighbors house playing with the kids every minute.  Such is life of a mother of a toddler.  Oh, and he is potty training too, and has turned into quite the exhibitionist.  He will sit on that potty for 20 minutes or more, just so he doesn't have to put pants on.    Anyway, I managed to do very well on the pre op diet this weekend despite the fact that I had a wedding rehearsel and reception to attend.  I was a little frustrated when there were NO VEGETABLES on the buffet line.  OH WELL.  SO to date I have lost a fluctuating 8-10 pounds dependent on water retention, so I am a little less nervous about going to the dr. on Weds.

It definitely was a Monday,  I was 30 minutes late for work, lucky for me I have a great boss.  I was up at 5:45a, but DS woke up too, and was tired, so I thought if I layed down with him for a few minutes he would go back to bed, and I can get ready for work in peace.  OOPS I fell asleep too.

Sorry I was so wordy today, Take Care
