Good Morning Illinois!  We've made it to the weekend!!!  And the rain has moved on for now.  Tomorrow I go and have a blood test to see just how my health really is.  I'm 4 months post op and I haven't had a drug of any kind since the WLS.  My general doctor is a big fan, so I look forward to the results of this blood work.  Eating is still a hassle, but I'm dealing with it.  I hope everybody has a great day.  And a great weekend as well!  Paul

Hi Paul! What a rain yesterday and a mess on the highways. It took me over 2 hours to get to Michigan City Indiana.

I'm back at work now..... getting ready for my cruise with Pam S. Watching the path of those hurricanes!

I doubt there will be any changes in your blood work, especially with having the lap band. Even with my RNY, I didn't see any changes until my 2nd year; then I became anemic. Now that has resolved.

Wishing you and everyone here a wonderful and restful weekend!

Hugs,
Lucy  -Love the new happy devil!!

Good morning everone

I had my first weigh-in and nutrition appointment.  It was intersesting.  I was told I have to lose 20 lbs I can't have the surgery until the 20 lbs is gone.  Which isn't a big deal 20 lbs in 6 months, I can do that.  I know I can.  But why do I feel nervous, I'm actually scared.    What if I don't lose the weight, what if I screw up and gain.  So tonight I'm doing groceries, healthy food only.

My goal is 320...wish me lots of luck.

Concentrate on your protein, get your water in, do whatever kind of exercise that is suitable for yourself, keep a food journal, measure your food amounts are a few of the things that I can think of off the top of my head. Remember the big "F" word and it is not what you think - it is forgiveness. Forgive yourself if you have a lapse. Just jump back on the band wagon and move on. You might have plateaus during the 6 month time frame and that is normal because your body is wondering where the calories went to that you were feeding it. It will hoard calories a little bit and then it will get used to less amounts.

Crystal...don't fret so much...20 pounds in 6 months isn't that hard. I found that logging everything I ate really helped. I also measured my portions so that I was getting an acurate calorie count. I did 1200 calories a day. I also tried to walk for at least a half hour 5 days a week. In order for an easier  transition after the surgery try drinking 64 oz of water a day and not drinking with your meals. This is a good time to practice the rules. Keep posting and we'll all help you out.
Good luck!

I am at  right now. It will be a slow day because there isn't much here. So I can concentrate on a couple of projects that I have going. Dave and I will meet for lunch at a small local deli and share a sammie, hopefully outside. We do not have many more days of nice outside weather.

Some errands for us tomorrow then we serve lunch to the production team at Willow. On Sunday we are going to the Sandwich Fair - looking forward to that.

Good Morning Illinois... I've missed you all... Life has been so busy for me... First let me say that Serenity is doing SO good! She struggles a bit with some of the same issues we had with her here at home but God is SO good and she is working SO hard and I am SO proud of her! She will get to come HOME from 10 days over Christmas! I am SO excited! The kids are back to school! YAY!!! I was in and out of the hospital over the last month for nausea and severe dehydration... It was the most frusterating thing! I had switched to a follow up Dr. due to gas prices and I go to a support group that is closer to my home... The ER did a CT scan and found that I now have 2 ovarian cycsts... So they were blaming it on that, NO... So then they did a scope, My pouch came back PERFECT!!! I was still feeling so sick... After going in and out of the hospital here and feeling like they had no answers for me... I called MY surgeon Dr. Guske who had me admitted my BP was 60/40 my pulse was 47 I was dehydraded to say the least! After lots of fluids and the test they give you right after surgery, we found that of ALL things I have post nasal drip, and have been drinking something cold first thing in the morning! He suggested I drink something warm to help pass that through my pouch so I wouldn't feel so nauseated... It has worked like a charm! I feel SO much better! It is worth sticking with your orignal surgeon no matter what BIG lesson learned there for me! Since I have lost about 150 pounds ( I put some on from my 13 bags of fluid I am not worried about that ) Life is SO different! I am on the GO... I am no longer held captive to my couch! I spend less and less time here at my computer! I spend more and more time outside and out with my family! I am SO thankful that I chose to have the RnY! I just wanted to update since I haven't been here in a while my one year is approaching! My life has changed SO much over the past year! I've missed you guys I think of you all often and I hope to check in more... Have a Blessed day! Jenn

Good Morning Paul and Illinois friends

It's Friday   I am glad the weekend is here.  Yesterday was a day from he## at work for everyone.  No one had a good day.  My supervisor and I were talking at the end of the shift yesterday and we were like "What happend"  It was like a disaster everytime we turned around.  I just love days like that  --- NOT

So needless to say, I am ready for the weekend.  No big plans.  I am glad the weather is predicted to be nice.  We had almost 3 inches of rain yesterday here, but the windows are open this morning and the rain is gone.  It is susposed to be a nice couple of days.

So, a weekend of pretty days sounds great to me.    Hope everyone has a good weekend.
