Thursday Roll Call
Morning All
Its a rainy dreary day. I hate getting out of bed on days like this. I just want to stay cozy in my bed.
Today is my first weigh-in / nutrtion class. I can't wait, I will finally feel like I'm on my way to getting my surgery. WOOHOO!!! So I'm in a good mood today. No more bad food, tomorrow I am going to do groceries and I will by good healthy food only.
I'm on my way...just think this time next year I will be much skinnier.

Good Morning my IL family!
Paul, I hope the food thing settles down for you soon and things all work out. I tried a shake with the whole milk yesterday and it didn't agree with my tummy. Maybe it takes time to get used to? I don't know...
Today it's raining and quite chilly here, thank goodness I happen to have some long pants that were too tight and now are fitting great. I have to run to Wal Mart and get some more shipping supplies and a hoddie for Tyler then to the Vet's office to pay off Shane's cremation and make an appt for Phantom to get heart worm tested so we can get his preventative meds. Other than that, it's pick up Tyler from football at 6pm.
Have a great day everyone, stay warm and dry!
Unfortunately, when they pasturize milk, it kills off most of the natural digestive enzymes that help us process milk in our systems. That's one of the reasons I stick to raw milk, but as I said the other day, raw milk is hard to get. I would highly suggest adding a good probiotic to your daily routine. If your digestive balance is not strong, nutrients don't get absorbed. I have had the best success with the probiotics I get through mercola.com. They are very well priced for the quality level. Even if you choose to not go with whole milk, the probiotics will do great things for your digestive and overall health! There's a new book out called Breaking the Vitamin Code, and it talks about probiotics as well as a vitamin that is made from all raw foods. Liz and I are trying these vitamins and they seem to be pretty good. The book is good information.
When food travels through the digestive track, it is broken down by the good bacteria that lives in our system for that purpose. We replensh that bacteria through mainly dairy sources, but with pasturization, most of that bacteria never survives to get into our bodies. Unfortunately, most people live their lives with bad digestion and only absorb a fraction of the nutriants that could be extracted from the foods we eat. So we end up eating more and more to try and get the nutrician that we need (and we gain weight!). Since we can't get the bacteria from food anymore, probiotics are a supplemental source of the good bacteria that we need. Acidophilous is one of the 5000 or so types of bacterium that are available in probiotic form. Every person's system is different and some probiotics work better for one person and some for others. In general, acidophilous is a fairly sensative probiotic that never survives most people's stomach acids. It's great as a suppliment for children and people who have a fairly strong system. The mercola.com stuff that I suggested above is a much wider and stronger selection of bacteriums that work for my system. According to one study, the average American has less than 30% of the healthy bacterium that we are suppose to have!
Good Morning Paul and Illinois
It is hard to believe that we are getting the remenants of Hurrican Gustav! They are predicting 2 - 4 inches here. The perfect day to stay inside with a good book .... but alas, work calls.
My knees feel great today thanks to the shots yesterday!
I love those shots. Perfect timing as we get a weather change. Hope they last awhile. I usually get 4 - 6 weeks off of them. I can only get them every 3 months but every little bit helps. I dread the knee replacements but you gotta do what you gotta do.
I talked to my doctor about getting into a special exercise program to help build up the strength in my legs and they told me about a specially designed program that our YMCA offers so I got a script for it and will be signing up for a self made plan. That will also help prepare me for knee surgery and speed up the weight loss (hopefully)
Hope everyone has a great day and stays dry!

Good Morning Paul and the rest of Illinois!
The rain did make it hard to get out of bed this morning, but I finally made it up and into work. Sorry to hear that you are still having trouble, but make sure to eat slow and I hope that helps.
I had an eventful evening. I was telling you how Liv had a bad cold, but went to school anyway. Sure enough, the nurse called me about 1:30 to tell me that Liv was not feeling well. The nurse suggested (since I work so far from the school) that Liv lay down for a while longer then tough out her last class, then head home on the bus with no volleyball practice. I agreed.
I left work an hour early to meet Liv when she got home. She called me while I was on the way and told me that she was feeling bad, AND that her ear was hurting. (Liv has a LONGGGGGGG history with ear tubes, and she does not have any in at the moment.) We went up to Wisconsin to see her doctor and it turns out that her whole head is infected......she had middle ear infections in both ears, outer ear infection in the left ear, and a sinus infection which is dripping causing the cough. Poor kid!!!!
She now has 20 days worth of anti-biotics and a weeks worth of drops and she should be on the mend soon. It is only the beginning of the season, I hope she does not continue to have problems. I wonder if another set of tubes is in her future?
She went to school today, and we are working, but I will wait to see how the day goes.
I wish everyone a spectacular day!
