Monday Roll Call

Good morning all in Illini Land from Hawkeye Land. Dave and I will leave this lovely little town of Leclaire, IA in a couple of hours. We did not go bike riding yesterday because we found out that there was something called the Grand Prix in Rock Island. It is motorized small formula cars (go cart sized) driven on the streets. It would not have been condusive to bike riding with all those people. So we went to the Niabi Zoo in Coal City just a little east of Moline. We have been there before and it is a perfect sized zoo to see everything and get a lot of walking in. Yesterday after the zoo we walked into the town we are at (1 mile) and shared a sandwich and then went and watched the boats on the Mississippi. It is right on the banks of the river, very relaxing.

Sounds like everyone had a great time at Paul's on Saturday.  I am going to have to go in and look at all the recipes that everyone shared. Well, everyone have a safe day and enjoy your family. The nice thing about the Quad Cities is that it is only about 2 hours from our house and an easy drive home.

Glad to see you enjoyed yourselves in the quad cities and will soon be arriving home.

We will be having a laid back kind of day here...will cook-out but no big bbq. It looks like today and tomorrow are going to be hot! I'm still not a big fan of the hot and humid weather. Bought my son 2 lamps for his living room. I couldn't wait til Saturday to give them to him and gave them to him yesterday. I figured it would be nice for him to have lamps when his company arrived for the bbq.

Hello everyone

I have no plans today.  I am just going to curl up with a book ( I want to finish Carrie, by Stephen King) and I migh****ch Vertigo.  Later in the evening I will go for a nice walk.  I live right by the Fox river.  Its a nice place to walk.  That's all for today, exciting I know.  But how many relaxing days does a person get, not many.

I was up in Iowa on Sat. I went to Williamsburg to the outlet mall, I went to go to the Coach store. I went for a wallet to go with the purse my daughter gave me but, I ended up with a purse and a wallet. I know its pricey but I decided I wanted a nice purse and it was on sale with 50% off the clearence price so I got it all for under 170. It took my first check after going back to work. I thought I needed a reward for all my weight loss over the summer....27 pounds. I was thinking it was a good way to get some extra walking in to!!!  We did walk alot. We were going to stay in Iowa City but the hotels were all full with the first football game of the season so see with the money I saved on a hotel almost paid for the purse!!!
Today going to daughters for a cook out.... Nothing much going on for me really.

Good Morning!!

I am SO sore today! We had my son's party at the gym yesterday, and I got the bright idea to go into the foam pit with my 2 year old... BAD idea! lol
I had to have someone help me out because it was SOOOOO hard to get out of there, I felt like an idiot. One of the Mom's was laughing with me, because she said her husband got stuck in the foam pit at another gym and needed help out! I think I got my workout for the whole week in there.  At least I know better now.

We are still trying to figure out what we are doing today. We have thought about Enchanted Castle in Lombard, but I don't even know if they are open. I wanted to take the boys on the Go Karts. I don't know what we will do otherwise?

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!!

Just stopping in for a quick minute.  I've got to get downstairs and get cooking for our bbq today.  I have ribs, chicken and a huge london broil to go on the grill and will pull out the variety of hot sauces that I made last season and hope the neighbors eat it up as it is almost time to make more.

I have not heard if Amber and Riley are coming out, it would be nice to see them.

We went to the Waterfront last night and it was the usual stuff.....really expensive.  When we got home, the down-the-street neighbors were having a blow-out of a party.  I did not go down there because I was not feeling well, but Todd and David went to give them their congratulation on a 25 year marriage.

I am wondering if any of you have had experiences like I did yesterday???  I am now small enough to fit on the carnival rides, so I was happy to finally join my family on the one that I used to love as a kid......it was the big round cage that you stand in and as it spins, the centrifugal force holds you in and it tips up to vertical as it is spinning.  Right as it started up, I felt nauseous.  I didn't really give it a thought, but the nausea was pretty bad by the time the ride was over, and it did not go away for HOURS!!!!!  Is there something about my new digestive system that is now sensitive to rides (and spinning), and how ironic is it that now that I can fit on them, they make me sick????  I really felt crappy the rest of the night.

I feel much better this morning, so I don't know..........

I love the rides more now then I ever have.  Sorry, I thankfully have not experienced the nausea.
Your bbq sounds fantastic.  Yummo!

I believe the nausea / dizzines from rides comes from the disturbance in your inner ear, not your digestive system.

Good Morning Christine and Illinois,

I slept like a log last night from 10:30 till 8:30 this am.  I don't remember even getting up during the night but Earl said I got up a couple times. I really needed the sleep I guess.

We were supposed to go to a family picnic today west of chicago but with everything going on at our daughters we decided to skip it and will be there with her when our SIL brings the kids back later today.  Earl plans on cleaning/straightening out their back shed to make room for the pool & supplies and the kids outdoor toys, so they can get them in there for the winter. Last year SIL left everything sit outside so they had to replace lots of stuff for the pool and spend quite a bit of $$$ to get it going.
