I am introducing myself

Hello

I am new to the Illinois board.  I want to get to know all of you and I want you guys to know me.
So here's a quick "about me" paragraph

I was raised in Aurora and now live in Oswego.  I am 37 and I have a 20 year old daughter (yes I  know I was very young whan I had my daughter) It has been just the two of us for 12 years now.  My whole world is centered around my daughter.  She is now at University of Illinois in Champaign, she is studying environmental science.  So I am very eco friendly.  I work in the finance department of a company that sells rehab supplies in Bolingbrook.  I hate my job!!!! 
I love reading suspense novels and I love horror movies.  The scarrier the better.  I am going to have Lap Band surgery hopefully in February.  I am 344 pounds and I am now seeing medical problems arrise from my weight.  I can't weight to join the losers bench!!!  I hope to meet you all soon...

We love to have new people on this board. We are all here for the same reason, that is to support each other, and help each other as much as we can.

I think most of us can relate to hating our jobs. Personally, I love mine, 9 out of 10  days. But since I have held it for 16 years, I really can't complaine.

Dr Lahmann out of Silver Cross hospital in Joliet is going to do my surgery.  I went there because that is where my insurance told me to go.  So far it seems like a quality place.

Hi and welcome to the best board there is!  You will find so many helpful and wonderful people here.  I am Monica, I live in North Aurora, not far from you! I am 38 with 2 boys who are 12 and 14 and a stepson who is 10.  I had my RNY on March 24th and a revision due to a blockage on April 9th.  It was a nightmare and I was SO scared, but ya know what? These wonderful people here on this board were with me all the way!!  If it wasn't for them, visiting, calling and sending cards I don't know where I"d be today.  If you are ever loney and want to get together, let me know, like I said, I'm not that far and love to make new friends!!

Nice intro you wrote! 

 I have two kids, son 23 just graduated and moved to Boston, and a daughter 21 at college in Lake Forest. And as for the job , I plead the 5th, its a paycheck and I work with really nice people ( most of them) 

It's good to focus on yourself now that your daughter is older.

I too waited until my nest was empty to focus on WLS, sooner than you know february will be here for you.

Well its nice to meet you guys.  Its funny how at home I am on here.  I don't fear any judgement.  My actual weight is a closely guarded secret, one only between me and my doctor.  But on here I just say it without any fear.  Its very freeing.

Im glad you feel at home here, everyone is soooo nice and supportive!  I havent been here that long and felt at home right away too.  Keep coming back with all your questions, thoughts, concerns etc... and someone is bound to have an answer, words of wisdom, or where to find the answer, they are all awesome.

I am your "neighbor" in the southwest of you.  I have been a member of this board for several months and it really is a friendly group.  I went to my first meet and greet yesterday and really enjoyed getting to put names and faces with "live" people.  Posting daily really helps you get to know people.  Hope to see you on the daily roll call.
