Hello Crystal!
Welcome to the friendliest forum on OH! Well I think its the friendliest. I am a mom of 3  and a gma of 3. I had lapband March 2, 2007. With the first 205 lost pre-opt and with the weight loss post-op I am down 91 pounds. I started at 268 and this morning I weighed in at 173. Like you I feel free on here to share that with out criticism of any kind. I will not tell my mom what I started at or what I weigh now. She always has to be smaller then you.
I had surgery on both knees before I even looked into lapband I do believe if I had the band first the knees would have been ok with out the surgeries. I have so much energy now that just the other day my youngest daughter asked me if I ever sit down! She remembers the mom who sat on the couch between bus runs and either was eating or sleeping!
As far as jobs I drive a school bus have for 17 yrs. I can not say I love it but I can say I stay for the kids they are great bunch. Their hugs when you smile at them or just treat them with respect is all I need to stay, but my boss and his wife are the worst!
Well welcome and remember to check in our daily roll call and let us know whats going on or just to ask  us a question. Someone will try and help you they are all great here and we have a good supporting group of ppl.
Karen

I am Christine and the guy in my avatar is my husband Dave. We both had RNY in 2003. We opted not to have any children and have been married 34 years. We spend a lot of our time volunteering at our church, spending time with my rather large family in the Chgo area, traveling etc. Dave is currently quasi unemployed, recently signed a contract with one company as a manufacturers rep (he has two more contracts pending) and I work at our local police department where I have the luxury of walking or riding my bike to work. I have days that I would like to say bye bye but I want to get 30 years in which is next year, Sept. I still however enjoy my job and am challanged by it many days out of the week.

Christine

ps we live in Itasca

Welcome Crystal!

I am 46 years old and my oldest daughter is 30, so I understand that part of your life.  I have two more children with my second husband, David is 15 and Liv is 12.   We also have a 2 year old grandaughter and 9 year old granson.  We are also very eco-friendly, we had 3 separate gabages before recycling became common.

I LOVE Stephen King and am always reading something,.  I like horror movies too, but they don't really make them very scary anymore.

I work for my husband's family business, and it is a paycheck.  It is not the "gravy" job that may family businesses can be.  My Father-in-law works me harder than anyone else in the building to show the other employees that he will show no favoritism.

We are all family here and love to make new friends!!!  Glad to "meet" you!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hi, I'm Connie. I had lap band surgery last October and my partner Kay had it in November. we both lost about 80 lbs and now it is going slower. We live in Rockford. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a faculty member at the U of IL College of Medicine at Rockford. Kay is a retired teacher with a garden design business.

I have three children, boys are 39 and 32 and my daughter is 35. They live all over the country and I don't get to see them a lot.

I love reading mysteries and always have one or two books going. I also knit  (perhaps addictively--but you can't eat and knit at the same time).

Welcome to this board!

Connie

I also love to read suspense books, ( Stephen king) and Dean Koontz) .
Please join in with our morning roll call we would love to have you it does keep us updated on how everyone is doing.
Don't be afraid to ask any thing we don't judge here and not questions are stupid questions.

Hugs to you.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
