Good morning Illinois!

For those of you who couldn't make it  to Paul's house: We missed you!
We had a very enjoyable time there! Everytime I get together with you, I learn something new. I'm just thankful that the people here are indeed nice people! We are here to help one another and support each other and to give advice or take it when needed. I would be lost without all of you!

My husband and I are getting ready to go out for breakfast. I'm looking forward to it as we haven't gone out to eat in quite some time.
Then we will go to Linen's n things to get a housewarming gift for Dan.
Then we will return his i-pass and gps to him. Maybe we will stick around and help him finish a few small things to get ready for his family bbq next Saturday.

Good Morning Carol and my IL family,

Yesterday was a very long, but good and fun day.  We had Tyler's first football game of his high school career and while they lost it was still fun to watch.  I love watching kids sporting events.  I did get fried on my upper chest though, the one darn area I forgot to put sunscreen on.  Then it was off to Paul's house.  What wonderful hosts Paul, Liz and Meridith were!  I really love hanging out with my family like that.  I met a lot of people I haven't met before and got caught up with those I have.  It's always a good time.  Paul, you have a lovely home and family and thank you so much for having us.  For those that couldn't make it, you were all certainly missed!

Today I am not doing too much of anything really.  Jacob and I are dog sitting for a couple in the neighborhood, so we'll be going over there several times today to play with Chloe and let her out.  I do have to help Jacbo with a project for Spanish that i have NO idea how we are going to do it.  Other than that, just relaxing.  Tomorrow Tyler has to be at practice at 8am because they lost!  no sleeping in for me this weekend...oh well.  lol

For  me today we have a 25Th anniversary party to go to this afternoon and then my granddaughter birthday party so we have a very busy day ahead of us,

Thanks Janet, you are looking good too.  I think everyone was yesterday too!  we all rock!

Last night I went to pick up Tyler at the birthday party he was at.  We've known this girl and her family since they were in 2nd grade so I ended up visiting with her mom and dad for over an hour.  The kids were with us as well.  So we go to leave and when we get in the van, Jacob says, "mom you look really good and I love that shirt on you"  Tyler pops up from the back, "yeah mom, you got back!"  LOL  I asked him what that was supposed to mean and he says, "You're waist is getting so small, but your booty isn't really, but don't worry it's not a bad thing."  Then he pops up and says, "YOU wrote the song, Baby's got back!"  I just burst out laughing!  He's so funny, but him and Jacob are the ones who comment most about how much I am changing....and not just with the weight loss either.  My marriage sucks right now and I am trying to make some very difficult decisions and they can sense that. 

Monica, I speak fluent Spanish and can write it on the computer too...

Okay maybe you can give us some ideas here then...lol

Jacob is supposed to find an object related to one of the Spanish speaking cultures.  We have NO clue what we would be able to "find" around here.  He's supposed to then write about it and what culture it's from.  (it can be written in English since he's only been in Spanish for a week..lol)

They also said that if the object can't be brought in, a picture can be taken to show the class.  Any ideas for us?

Hi Monica, it was really nice to meet you yesterday. You have come a long way from when I first started coming to OH. Keep up the great job!

Food items from Spanish cultures are plentiful.  Would you happen to have sarape or marachas or something similar hanging out around the house or some carved wooden or quartz animals from Mexico?

Well hello there Randy, I don't think I have "met" you yet here..welcome to the IL board.

Thanks for the ideas, I don't have any of those things here, but I wonder if a  party store would have some maracas that we could use....that's a great idea...
As for the food, we've been thinking about that too...lol

True enough.  I am new here.  Trying to keep my mind and hands occupied so that less food ends up in my mouth.  Holiday weekends and even regular weekends almost always find ways to tempt me.
