Friday Roll Call
Good morning friends!
We are so looking forward to the party tomorrow. What a great way to do Labor Day weekend. I am starting mine today. It occurred to me that I only go to work Wednesday and then I have to go to Las Vegas for a convention Wed thru Sat. I am not a LV kind of person and so I have some dread about this, but the lectures will be interesting. I haven't decided yet if I want to haul the computer out there, so I may not be on next week.
Going knitting today and then getting a pedicure. I decided to treat myself!
Have a great day everyone and we'll see (most of) you tomorrow!

Paul and fellow Illinoians,
I know this is last minute and I don't post too often, but I read your posts everyday. I'm kind of a stand in the shadows and watch type person. But I feel I know you all and would really like to meet you all in person. Would it be too late to come and meet everyone tomorrow? Wouldn't be able to get there til about 4 and would that be too late? Either way Paul just let me know.
Thank you,
Angie

Well I guess I am likely in the wrong place. I have been going to all the docs that I was told I would need to see as I have had money for copays. I went to the wellness/nutrition folks and to a seminar at the Kane center last week. My surgery will most likely be by Madura and I have not seen him yet. I have started a lot of Instant Breakfast, Slimfast, whey protein, and two small meals a dayand have gone from 517 to 496 in the last week. Surgery is likely at least fivemonths out and perhaps eleven months out.

Hi Randy!
I would never say that this is the WRONG place to come for support and friendship through the bariatric process.
It IS the Illinois state board and most everyone on this board live in Illinois, but some have had surgery in Illinois. Do you live in TX? Are you moving here soon or are you just having surgery at the Kane Center.
As I said, this is a great place for support and if you have any quetions, ask away, someone will know the answer......
Have a splendid day!

Thank you for your welcome.
I have updated my profile. I moved to Schaumburg in June of 2007.
My wrong was not in caps or saying anything negative about the group. I see that most of the posters here are post op though and I am only at the beginning of wanting to be pre-op.
One thing I guess I would like to know is if there are any BCBSIL HMO folks stories I could read or whom I could talk with.

Well Randy, you are in the RIGHT place!
I know that you did not mean anything negatively, I thought that maybe you were just truly "lost". I'm glad that you found us! This board is very active and supportive. I have made many friends here and we have get togethers often.
If you have been reading here, you know that there is a get together at Paul's tomorrow, contact him if you are interested.
I have BCBS of IL PPO, so my experience might be a bit different. I was approved after completing all of htier requirements that way that THEY wanted them completed. I would imagine that the HMO is similar, just that you will need referrals for each different doctor.
There is a page here at OH where you can research people's experiences with insurance.
Try here: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/list-insure rs.php?State=IL&alphaPos=B
There is also an insurance forum where you may get people's stories:

I'm sure others will chime in here also.
Again, WELCOME to the Illinois board! We LOVE new friends, pre-op, post-op, non-op.....doesn't matter.....

RANDY!!!!! so good to "see" you. Dave and I could not stay to be with you and your wife last week at the pre surg seminar as we had a major "to do" list on Saturday. I hope you were able to gain some info at the seminar.

ps - great job on the going down in #'s. You might hit a plateau, do not be discouraged. See your wife when we are next at the Creek and she is there.

Congrats on the 21 pound weight loss! Keep reading here and post your questions...someone will be able to answer them. Good luck on your journey!
