Dr. Lahmann or Dr Joyce

I have not been to any support meetings. That is one of my reasons of trying to find a doctor closer to me. I would like and need to be part of a support group. I need better after care. Do you go to the support group meetings? Do you pay for your fills or does insurance cover it?

My doctor is Dr Lahmann.  I have just started the process, so I only met with him once.  He was very nice.  Silver Cross's bariatric program is a great program.  I start my nutrition classes tomorrow.

Thank Your for telling me how nice Dr Lahmann is. I go for my first visit on Sept. 24 with him. I like how you said Silver Cross is a great program. Because it is not just having surgery and that is it. I had lap band Feb. 2007 so I am a little over 1 1/2 years out. I need a doctor that is closer to home and easier to get to. Good luck with your nutrition class and update us on how it went.
I never had nutrition classes I meet with a dietitian once in the beginning for a 1/2 hour. Maybe I need a review.

I TOO HAVE DR JOYCE , I HAD MY PRE-OP VISIT TODAY AND MY LABS. I REALLY LIKE THAT OFFICE THEY ARE ALL VERY HELPFUL AND CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS.I AM HAVING THE REALIZE BAND ON 9/9/08 IN SIX DAYS......WEEK TWO PF THE LIQUID DIET.....NOT SO BAD...JUST TWO DAYS WITH A HEADACHE FROM NO CAFFEINE..

You have to keep us updated on your progress.  I was just in last week to talk to Dr. Lahmann (for my consult) and I have to choose between the Lap Band or the Realize band.  The only reason I am apprehensive about the Realize band is because I don't know anyone that has the Realize band.  What made you decide on the Realize band???  I have five months to make my decision but after reading everything on their website I'm still undecided.

(SHORTER) I JUST LIKE IT BETER, I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS STUFF FOR 10 YEARS AND ALMOST GOT THE LAPBAND 10 YEARS AGO AND MY INS WOULD NOT COVER IT AT THAT TIME INVESTIGATIONAL! ANYAWAY GET THE INFO FROM THE WEBSITE, THEY WILL SEND YOU INFO IN THE MAIL...IT'S LIKE 3 BOOKS ABOUT THE SURG,THE REALIZE BAND THE SUPPORT AND THE WEBSITE....GOOD LUCK TO YOU

I have the Realize band, maybe I should change my band type, but they only had lap band listed when I joined. I haven't had any problems. Realize band also has an on line support. You can go to Realizemysucess.com to look at it. You then get passwords to update it later.

It's hard with no caffeine. I love my coffee. Hang in there you are doing great. What is different about the realize band? I know I have the small port is that what it is or a different kind of band?
