Thursday Roll Call
Congratulations on the pounds gone this week. You are really doing a fantastic job with your band.
I am working today and tomorrow.....then a 3 day busy weekend! Todd has a softball tournament on Friday then he wants to go to the Waterfront, David has his first football game, we also have another party Saturday night, the Waterfront on Sunday, and a barbeque on Monday. Busy, busy, busy........
Tomorrow will be interesting, because two of our best workers are taking the day off. We will see how that goes.
I am looking forward to Saturday and seeing many of you. It looks like all 4 of us are going to make it. I am sorry to hear that Monica's oldest will not be there, as David was looking forward to meeting him. Oh well, David is well trained in entertaining younger kids, so he should still have fun and be helpful.
Liv decided to keep the shoes, so I dodged the bullet of having to return/exchange them.
That's about all that is going on in my little part of the world!
Everyone please enjoy your day and hug your loved ones!
Hope you are all ready to have a good 3 day weekend and some r&r. In Schaumburg we are having our big "SEPTEMBERFEST" which is very close to our home, we can just walk over any time and walk home, the go back if we feel llike it.
Here's a link to the event:

I think it will be a good year because of the nice weather we expect, and the fest has a GREAT arts & crafts section all 3 days, as well as good entertainment, "Taste of Schaumburg", carnival, etc. And, it's all free.
Cheers,
Mary

WOW, I moved to the area in the mid 70's and remember when Schaumburg Rd. was a little 2 lane road which did a jig jog at Plum Grove Road. How things have changed!!! The fest is still basically at the same place, the street is Summit and it's on the Municipal Center grounds. We live right across the street (Summit) in Lexington Village so it's an annual have a ball weekend and you hardly have to leave home.
Have a nice weekend in the Quad Cities.

Good Afternoon! I don't know how you guys all get up so early! I am fortunate to work part time (2x10hr days a week) and those two days are the only ones I ever get up early for. Believe me I pu**** too, cause most times I'm running out the door.
Anyway, I had to get up early this morning for my pre-op surgery testing at St. Alexius. It was all a bit daunting that early. My appointment was at 7:30am. Started off with a lovely poke of the needle for my blood work (2 trys to get it right) and then off for my chest x-ray. They obviously saved the best for last....the Upper GI...who came up with combining pop rocks, water and barium? That was the first time I've ever had to do that but I'm sure it's not my last. Anybody else feel a bit queasy after that?
I got my surgery time it's 10am on 9/19 and it looks like I'm going to have to overnight. The nurse said the new trend is to send home the patients same day but she hasn't seen any of the doctors at that hospital do it as of yet. We'll see.
Well, off to grab a bite to eat since I still haven't eaten anything since yesterday..! I hope everyone has a beautiful day and I look forward to more posts with you all!

Going now to finish the packing for the weekend.

Just a quick sign on today to say HI! I am feeling better and regaining my strength little by little everyday. The more I move around the better it gets. Each day the eating thing gets a little better too. I weighed in this am and had lost 26 pounds since surgery! It was a good day!
We are looking forward to Saturday and meeting all of you nice people. It should be a very fun day!
Tomorrow I meet with Noah's teachers to set goals for him for the school year and I have 2 doctor's apts for follow up from my bypass. One is my PCP, and the other is the endocrinologist. Hopefully the endo will lower my insulin even more, my sugars have been great! I was on 110 units of insulin plus oral meds and came home on 40units and now am at 24 units!! Hurray!! Today was my last Lovenox injection, thank goodness, and hopefully soon my last insulin injection.
I hope everyone had a great day and cant wait to meet alot of you on saturday!
