OSF insurance anyone?

First I want to say thanks Connie for suggesting the Illinois board, dont know why I didnt think of that  blond moment I guess!

So I had posted that my gp sent a letter, my pain doc sent a letter after her nurse called OSF to see what they needed.  Now I get another letter from OSF saying they need this questionare filled out by the pain doc and more documentation.  Guess it is just as everyone is telling me,  they hope you just give up and dont get the surgery,  pay for it yourself, or get a loan. 

I am just irritated that after being this weight for over 10 years now,  many diets, pills, exercise, and my back getting worse, high blood pressure, foot pain,  my knee is starting to make noise no pain yet etc... they want to make it so hard for me to get this to prevent more trouble!!!   AAAAAAAAAAA!! 

Ins wants proof of 12 months supervision in the last 3 years for wt loss.  I have had that but I think they are looking through all the charting trying to see if she missed something so they can say no.  Thanks for letting me vent.  I have to say that OSF has been good on paying for all my back injections, mri, therapy etc...  guess they just want to keep paying for things wearing out.

Welcome to the IL Board.  I hope you find the support you need from all of us here. 
I'm sorry you are struggling through the approval process.  Most of us have or are going thru the same darn thing.  In my opinion, they do want you to give up.  They typically don't want to just hand over 65,000. to every person that on a whim decides that wl surgery is what they need.  Keep fighting, don't give up and you will win in the end.

Welcome to the Illinois Board.  I think any insurance company does this.  They want you to roll over and play dead.  Hang in there, it will happen.  If you get a denial -- Appeal, Appeal, Appeal.  You can break them down!  They have an excellent bariatric program and I think that they will end up paying for it.  Try to be patient.  It took me two years with my insurance carrier but it DID happen.  ((((((((HUGS))))))))
