Hi! I'm not near that area but wanted to welcome you to the Illinois board.  good luck locating a new doc. seems like you've been getting ideas on where to find what you need. Paulette

I've heard good things about Silver Cross' program. It really isn't that far from you.

I'm not a lap-bander, but just the same I'd like to say "welcome!"

I try to visit this forum at least a few times a week. Nice group of folks. I'm sure there's someone out your way who would love to take you under their wing!

Safe travels,

Nicolle

Hey there. We were banded by the same guy in phoenix and its funny you'll be moving to Illinois. Dr Watkins, like Dr Simpson only performs band surgeries, so he is knowledgeable about the care we need and won't get our needs mixed up with those of RNY pts.

I came across Synchrony health (www.synchronyhealth.com) I had my first appt with the surgeon, Dr Watkins last Monday and I'm heading back to the offfice next week. My first impression was that I really like him. He and his nurse really know their stuff. (his nurse was banded by another Dr prior to working for him and had lots of issues, so it says alot that she is now his pt and employee.)

I like that they're in a Medical officce building and you just have to go downstairs if you need fluoro or an upper gi.  His office is in Oakbrook which would probably be about 45 minutes from the Joliet area.  There's also no hassle with him taking on another surgeon's patients.  And I know he looks young, but I saw one of his pts in the office who was his 3rd band pt ever and that was 8 years ago.
