Moving to IL need Lap Band Doctor

Hello,

I'm moving to Illinois from Arizona. I'll be living close to Morris / Channahon, which is close to Joilet. Not exactly sure yet.
Hopefully one of you will be living close to me and we can meet. I won't know anyone except for husbands family so it would be nice to meet some new hope to be friends.

I need to find a GREAT! Lap Band doctor *****ally knows his/ her stuff.

I was banded March of 2007 and met my goal and have maintained. I have had some problems so I would like a very experienced doctor.

If you have a great doctor please let me know their name?
Do they have a website?
Do you know if they accept patients who have already been banded.

I see Dr, Guske at the Kane Center in Elk Grove Village. There are a few who go to Dr. Joyce in Joliet. I do not know if they see transfer patients, I guess the best thing you could do is call them and see,

You might want to try searching in a couple of different ways. Ask Dr Simpson (I loved his book and have a signed copy of it) or his staff if there is a name of a surgeon's group they would recommend in your area as these docs go to conventions and are friends with docs from other areas. You could search on this web site http://asbs.org/ go to the patient link on the right and go to member search. Put in your new zip code and a list will pop up of docs. Look for the code of "FOLL" that is a doc that is willing to followup other doctor's patients. Where the doctor's name is in blue you can click on that and it will take you to the web site for that doc. My doc is in the list - Dr Jeffrey Rosen in Downers Grove. Monica mentioned her surgeon's group - Dr Guske They are a little north of me in Elk Grove Village. My husband had his WLS with Dr Rantis who is in that same group. The next thing you can do is contact the close by hospital to get a list of doctor's that specialize in bariatrics.

Welcome to Illinois!  I live about 40 miles west of Morris.  This is a really pretty area with our state parks having lots of dells and water falls and trails for hiking if that is your thing. 

I loved my doctor who would be about an hour north of Morris.  She is Dr. Leslie McClellan.  She is in Harvard Illinois.  She is an excellent surgeon!  She is listed here on the Illinois physician sites. 

Let us know when your moving date becomes final.

Christopher Joyce at BMI Surgery is very good.  He is right there in Joliet at Silver Cross Hospital, which is one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation.   Dr Joyce's practice is a Center of Excellence as well.  Very personable and the office staff is top notch.

Welcome to the Illinois board!  I had my lap band surgery out of country and I was given a list of doctors who would treat patients in my situation.  I just checked the list and Dr. Christopher Joyce at 815-723-8571 was listed for the Joliet area.  I live in the Northwest and use Dr. Amir Heydari at (815) 334-3822.  He's located in Crystal Lake, which is a bit far from where you're going to be, but very worth the drive.
