Monday Roll Call

Good morning everyone. Real fast fly by as I need to get ready and into work early. We had a fantastic time in St Charlie over the weekend. I will try to post a little more later on today. I took the computer but someone had taken the power unit out of the room for the internet. I did not ask the front desk about it as actually Dave and I were too busy window shopping and just walking, talking and doing married peoples things , get your mind out the gutter - we connected in a more deeper way as most marrieds do after 34 years. Found some books at an antique place to put on our new shelving unit. I read "The Bobbsey Twins" series when I was a girl and found 2 of them and I also found some vintage post cards from the WI Dells.

Chris, I too was a Bobsey Twins fan as well as Nancy Drew.  In fact I still have some of my books! 

Hope everyone stays cool today.  Heat indexes are susposed to be 105 and up.  So remember your water!

Weekends always go by so fast.  So, I find myself up and getting ready to face another week at work.  Hope everyone has a good week work wise.

I started work at 5am this morning after having a busy weekend.  Our weekend turned out to be very nice and not too badly rushed.  I do wish I could have spent more time with my sis.  I don't get to see her very often but I am going to spend next Sunday with her all by myself!  I'm working 5 - 1 Monday - Wed then off on Thurs & Friday.  Calvin is off today, Thurs & Friday and our neighbor will be with the girls on Tues & Wed until I get off at 1.

Glad to hear your weekend went well.  Hope everyone has a fantastic start to a great week.

I just want to thank you all who are giving me advice on "How to win approval from BCBSIL"  Sounds like it should be a book, huh?
I will make an appointment with my PCP and see what happens on the Supervised weight loss diet.  Maybe if I keep good records for her and document everything then she could just incorporate my notes into hers...  I know doctors just don't have the time they used to back in the day.  Now it's "push 'me out.....Next!"  lol

I hope that everyone had a great weekend.  It looks like today is going to be a busy day.  Major cleaning and floor washing after having the granddog for the past 10 days.  There is a storm brewing, the sky is black and its quite windy.  Good day to say home.  Have a good one.

Good Morning. I overslep this moring and just got up. Today I will be busy, I need to storm my house and do weekend cleaning. Work on my scrapbook, and then, if it isn't storming, take the GD outto the pool and veg the rest of the day.  I think I will make BBQed beef for supper, along with slaw and something else.

Tuesday, I will be driving to Havanna (south of Peoria) to my sisters house and spend the day with her. I will be staying home the rest of the wee****il we take Morgan back home to Bloomington on Friday evening.I am sure I will find plenty to do.

BTW, a small Wow moment yesterday. While cleaning out the closet, I came across a pair of  pull-on pants, size 1x. Just for fun, I decided to try them on and they fit great. I was surprized and happy. I am not going to keep them, they are faded and stained, but at least they fit.

Lisa I know where your sisters live. I have cousins that live in Havana, My granny lives in Manito as do most of my moms family. Its about 75 miles from my house.

Wow thats a great feeling to come across something that did not fit before and then WOW oh WOW it fits.  I am proud of  you!

good morning all!!!

my first big vent, my A/C is out!!!!    its supposed to be so hot today and we have nothing!!!  hopefully i can get it fixed today, the earlier definetly the better!  and the a/c in my car is busted so theres no way i can bring the girls out in this heat.  thats just too rough for them! 

other than that, our weekend wasn't too bad.  went to visit a friend in the hospital, visited lots of family and overall had a nice relaxing weekend!  didn't go by too quick or too slow.  now, i'm fighting with my 2 year old to keep our patio door open so we can at least keep some air flow coming in before it gets too hot.  she thinks because its raining & thundering, it HAS to be closed.  lol  its logical!  but not necessary. 

i hope everyone has a great monday!  take it easy on this hot hot day.

In the last 15 minutes it has gone from a sunny beautiful summer day to  a  dark rainy winter day.  Hope you all have indoor plans for today  between the rain and humidity.

We enjoyed the concert last night. Ran into a couple of old neighbors. Ava and Vince had a good time too.!

Good Morning Everybody!  Christine, I'm glad you had a great time on your weekend!  34 years is wonderful!  And by the way, I fully intend to have "Gutter" moments when Liz and I get to 34 years!!!  I hope you and Dave had a few of those as well, but that's not my business so enough said!  I had a great thing happen on Saturday.  As most of you know, I've been having problems with my scale.  Most of it is too much attention to the scale, but part of the problem is that my digital scale never shows the same number twice!  So I decided to purchase a new scale.  I didn't want to spend a fortune, so I decided to go to Costco.  On my way to the store, I saw a sign for a garage sale and I stopped (I love garage sales!).  As I was leaving (no good stuff), I almost tripped over a Detecto Doctors office scale for $20!  This is the same scale that my grandparents bought for $200 over 25 years ago.  A true weight balanced scale.  So I bought it and brought it home.  I weighed myself, and sure enough, I got the same number that my doctor got on Thursday (my digital scale has been anywhere from 3 to 7 pounds off everytime I've stepped on it).  Of course, I still need to limit my use of the scale to no more than once a week (doctor's orders)!  Have a great day!  Oh, by the way, it looks like the date I proposed for a get together is good for most.  I'll let Liz know and we'll firm it up later today, so watch for that post!
