Good morning everyone. Well, I woke up to the sound of rain, looked at the weather map and it does not look like it will be around long.

I am about ready to start my weekend as we are going to be going to St Charles for two days for my guy's b-day today.   there will be some of the first smiley but not the later because of the dumping. It has been rare for us lately to even have any sweets.

Whoops - just heard some boomers.  Need to get going. I will have a  with because Dave needs to review his e-mail while gone. He believe it or not has 3 offers on the table now. crazy as he hears nothing for months now this.

Good Morning Chris -
Hope you and Dave have a great weekend and tell Dave I said Happy Birthday!  Congrats to Dave on the three offers.. that is fantastic.
Just finishing up the last day of the week.  Calvin is leaving Bakers Square and will be joining the team at Portillos.  He is very excited.  I'm tjrilled for him.  We were so nervous about Bakers Square future and just fealt it was time to move on.  Now that Bennigns closed this week, there is a ton more mangers in need of jobs so thank goodness he got the offer when he did.
Tomorrow we will be heading to Indy for the weekend.  Sunday we have a party to go to then we will be bringing my granddaughter back with us for the week.  Our 11yr old neice will also be here.  You met her last year at the Itasca fair.. Kealie.  So, I'm looking forward to a great week with the girls next week.
Hope everyone has a great day!

There you are! I was thinking of you yesterday and was going to add you to the list of MIA's but got busy at work and did not get back to it.

Yes, I remember your niece, she was quite a talker if I remember correctly, not shy at all especially for meeting people for the first time. Drive safely.

I remember Calvin talking about Portillo's while at your house for the get together. Which restuarant will he be at? Hopefully it is not as far as Orland Park like he was with the "square". Yeah, that Bennigns on MI Ave was a great place. Dave and I would go there after we would go to Willow Chicago for church on Sunday (when we would go downtown to church). I was totally shocked that it closed but found out that it was a privately owned rest. and not a franchise.

Christie, great job on the numbers.

Hopefully, you are correct on the temp for the next few days. I am still reading that it is going to be 87 today. My department/village hosts National Night Out and every year we have had it it has been hotter than blazes. This next Tuesday is the day and it supposed to be 89 that day, YUCK! It is nasty to be in full dark blue uniforms in that heat. I always fortunately work during the day inside and just come to the event as a private citizen and I usually am melting in shorts.

Good Morning Chris and IL Board,

Happy Birthday to Dave!!!

Not much happening here today....just lots of rain.  I had to stand outside in the downpour so that the dogs would take care of their business this morning....they don't like getting their feet wet. LOL.

I joined in a fitness study at the local healthclub.  They have a few group classes like Yoga, Zumba, Spinning, etc....I think I may give those a try.  Anything to kick start my workouts.  The study lasts 3 weeks, and I am hoping for more flexibility as well as toning. I'm sure I will continue going there after the study, since they really have a nice facility and up to date equipment.

Tim is working at the fire dept today, so I am on my own for the day.  We will be going to the Cubs game on Sunday with a group from the police dept.  Tim is a diehard Cubs fan so he is pretty excited about the game...not sure how he feels about meeting some of "my boys" from work though.  My niece and her hubby are visiting from FL and will be joining us.  We will be on one of the rooftop decks on Sheffield Ave.

Other than the baseball game this weekend, I will be doing the usual cleaning and running errands.

Hugs!
Paula

Good Morning Chris, and Happy Birthday to Dave. Have a fun time in St. Charles. And Dave, good luck on the offers.

Well, I am off to Bloomington this morning. I get to stay with the DGD this morning and then drop her at her GS leaders for a party this afternoon. I hope the rain goes straight south so it will miss Bloomington. They are having a swimming party.

Nothing else happening in my world. So I will be heading south in a few.

Hugs,

Morning all! Happy birthday Dave and good luck sifting through your many offers!

Woke to the sound of thunder today. Kind of weird, but welcome as that may mean the kids and I can stay home today and prep their rooms for painting tomorrow. One boy will have an outer space theme and the other boy will have a transportation theme. I am more excited than they are for the changes!

Hit a minor stall this week on weight loss, just lost two pounds in the last week and a half. I can live with that! I need to remember how bad off I was before I had my surgery and be grateful for the journey I have traveled so far!

Have a great day!

Hi Everybody!  First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!  I went to both the surgeon and my primary care doctor's yesterday and they both said the samething.  I've actually lost 4 pounds this month, toned my shape to an extremely noticable level (to everybody except myself!), and have been proceeding at an incredible rate.  The surgeon said that he wasn't going to give me a fill, because I simply don't need one.  I'm eating extremely well (both in quality and quantity), and he doesn't want to create problems where there aren't any.  His advice was to add more structured exercise, limit my treats **** cream) to no more than every 3 days, and most importantly, chill out and enjoy my success!  My primary (the greatest doctor in the world!) said exactly the same thing.  Next Thursday I am scheduled for a test that measures my body fat and metabolism.  The surgeon said that will help us to fine tune everything and work on getting the weight to start coming off at a faster pace.  The primary said that my slow plateu could last up to 3 months and to just relax and keep doing all the right things.  Okay, now is the time to get all your "I told you so's" over with so I can share a real WOW moment.  Last night Liz had a work dinner at her boss's house and came home around 8pm.  She had some photos that were taken at the fancy Christmas party back in December.  There I was in all my glory decked out in nice cloths and looking like a million bucks!  Only, when I looked at the pictures it was more like a million pounds!!!  I almost didn't recognize myself.  I know it was me because I remember the cloths!  But I was amazed at how big I was!  My glasses (the same one's I'm wearing right now) were tiny on my huge puffy face!  I took one of the pictures with me to the mirror and held it up to compare then and now, and there is absolutely no comparison!  Liz thinks I'm nuts because I simply haven't noticed the massive (and I do mean massive) changes that have happened to my appearence in the last 4 months.  I went from being a blimp to an average (heavy still) person!  I'm more than half way to my goal weight, but I'm only 21 pounds away from shedding the clinical level known as OBESITY!!!  I am now lighter than I've been in 10 years, and in 13 pounds, I will be under 200 pounds for the first time in 24 years!!!  I may have to by Liz a gun to keep all you sexy women off me!  I really appreciate all of your patience in hearing me complain everyday about being stalled.  I now realize that in less than 3 months, I've surpassed half the distance to correcting a condition that took over 30 years to create.  Even if it takes me a full year to get to my perfect weight (only 38 more pounds!), it is a miracle of success.  And that would mean a rate of 4 pounds per month!  That's what I lost this last month!  And the doctor's say that if I continue doing what I've been doing, the rate will absolutely increase big time once my body adjusts.  Add the structured excercise (which I'm going to do immediately), and I could easily double that rate.  That could mean hitting goal by the end of the year!!!!  But for now, I'm still keeping my focus on getting out of the obesity catagory (another 21 pounds) by Thanksgiving.  I hope everybody has a fab weekend and enjoys what is supposed to be good weather!  Paul

P.S.  For Barry if you're out there, I've lost one of my "X's"!
