Monday Roll Call
Am I in the twilight zone or what? It's 7:45 and no one has posted roll call yet. wow.......
Good morning Illinois!
I've got a job interview today! WooHoo! Someone finally replied to my faxed resume. Last night went to a Concert on Ravinia. It was sponsered by the Orland Park park district and was free. We got to hear the Neverly Brothers sing. I've heard of them before but hadn't heard them They are billed as rockabilly/retro. They were good, we did enjoy the music.
Oh, well...have a great day everyone!
We had a pretty good weekend, but I am disappointed for Liv. She was SOOOOO looking forward to being in the play that we went to sign up for on Saturday. She took great pains with her hair and clothes. This play is being put on by a theater company in Rockford, and every play that they have ever done guarantees a spot for everyone that pays "tuition" as it is a learning experience. We assumed that this was the same this time as the mailing that we got did not say anything different.
To make a long story shorter, after waiting over 2 hours for her audition, she went in, the director asked her where her prepared monologe and song were and when she told him that she was unaware that it was to be a prepared audition, he dismissed her. It seems that THIS play was going to be different than every other play that they have done and you actually had to try out for a part. That would have been fine, and she COULD have been prepared, but they never let us know. Oh well......live and learn, I guess, but I STILL feel bad for her.
I will be researching other opportunities for young actors in our area.
So, most of Saturday was taken up by the "audition", then we went to the grocery store and home to see our boys. The boys had a great week at Scout camp. David said that he "had too much fun, if that is possible."
Saturday night, we had a fire with the neighbors and just hung out.
Yesterday, I got the oregano thinned out and Todd and the kids went to a corn boil. I stayed home and relaxed because I do not eat corn, hot dogs, dessert, or drink regular lemonade.....what would be the point?
This week, we are getting Liv ready for her big trip to Georgia, and Todd and I are levaing for Las Vegas next Monday. David will stay with the neighbors while we are all gone.
It is sunny and beautiful here in Rockford.
Everyone have a spectacular day!
I'm glad you enjoyed the CD. It was one of the best albums I've ever made and I miss that particular pairing of musicians. When Liz and I were married, I hired the After Five Orchestra to play at the wedding. That is a band that is run by the friend who played piano on my CD. Well the scheduled bass player had an emergency and the sub was the fellow who played on my CD. Neither he nor I new that he was going to be playing my wedding! It was great fun having the reunion. I had a planned song that I sang to Liz (I wrote it for the wedding), and Gayle came up and sang as well. So it turned out to be a "Take The Lodge" reunion of sorts. I was working on a new CD and was planning to use some of the same musicians, but then Meredith was born and the project died on the vine. I have all the songs recorded with just me, a guitar and a bit of harmonica. I don't know if I'll ever pick it back up, but it's still alive in my mind. Anyway, tell Liv to hang in there. Theater is both a wonderful and vicious experience. I did Shakespare at the Woodstock Opera House several years ago and it was the experience of a life time. But I watched so much politicing and unfairness that it made me very upset. The same actors were always the leads, not because of their talents, but because of their personal relationships. I found out several years after my run, that I got the part because I could write the music to Shakespare's words and that way they saved on paying national royalties! I would have written the music even if I didn't get the part, but they didn't ask me. I feel sorry for the actors who auditioned but never had the chance. I never acted before, and I had a whole lot of fun, but I wish I knew for sure that I earned the role. There are plays going on everywhere, and plenty of parts for Liv to play. She's a wonderful and animated person and I'm sure she'll shine on stage!

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
I have been MIA for a while, we have just been busy with the boys this summer

I am officially 2 months post-op today, and I am down 52 pounds! I am feeling great! I posted a new pic on my profile if anyone is interested.
Hope everyone has a great day! Once I get off here, I need to clean, then run to the bank.
Good Morning Carol and Everyone.
We had a good Sunday, the guys worked on the rental house siding, and Morgan brought her friend upand they were in the pool all day. Monica and I just cooked and hung out.
Today, it was back to work, I only have to work 2 days then I am totally off until Aug. 18th. Then, its back for forever.
I will probably work on a rug this afternoon. I need to go to Walmart for some more material to use, but I will do that tomorrow when I am closer to it.
Thats it for me. Have a good day.
Hugs
Karen
