Loving Life: I Lost 108 pounds in 5 months!
Thanks, Mandy! I know what you mean. A couple of nights ago I went to Red Robin and had an appetizer, entree and dessert and felt great. Great company, great food. I weighed myself the next day and had lost 1 pound!!! The DS rocks!
I love watching your transformation, too!

Nicolle,
108 pounds in five months is nothing short of amazing. You must feel so good!! You look great, there is such a dramatic change. Don't you just love the DS! My life has changed so much since having mine almost eight years ago. Your "wows" and changes are just beginning! Enjoy the ride!

I didn't know you "lurked" in the Illinois forum, too!
I love, love, love your story, Kennedy. And I am so glad that you are still around, sharing your experiences with us newbies. That is off-the-charts generous of you!
Eight years is a lifetime in bariatrics, so I am very heartened by your success. It gives me hope that I won't need a revision, etc. to stay healthy.
Take care, babe!

Much praise to the DS!!!! You are doing a fabulous job Nicolle, you're rockin' that DS!
I really wish more people knew about the DS, I wish they could truly research ALL of their options. As a former RNY post-op and now a newly switched DSer I couldn't reccommend a surgery more.
Much love to you for being the best DSer you can be, spread the word....the DS is where it's at!!!

I MY DS!!!
Thanks, Bradshaw! You're doing mighty fine, too!
I'm sorry you had to go through what you did to get where you are today (failed RNY, etc.). It must have been heart-breaking to have a surgery (the anxiety, the prep, the post-op euphoria) and then have it fail. I have my fingers crossed that this magic continues for me and I won't be looking for a new miracle down the line. I'm heartened by people like Kennedy (above) who are years and years out and still loving life, getting good labs and eating well.
The first surgeon I visited (he's the honcho at Northwestern) only did the RNY and LapBand, so that's ALL he talked about in his info session. I asked about the DS, because my therapist had told me about it, and he said "oh, there's that one too, but I don't do it." I asked "why not?" and waited to hear that it was horrible or whatever crap they like to say. But he said he'd "have to go back to school to learn it!" At least he was honest!!!
